Sages browning
In 1897, the sage Browning of firearms designed the earliest semi-automatic pistol, the M1900, which pioneered the use of bolt recoil automatic principle and sleeve design, which can hold 8 rounds of bullets (7 rounds in the magazine and 1 round in the chamber). The Browning M1900 features a sleeve construction with the barrel down and the re-entry spring on top.

In the firing system, M1900 adopts the firing pin firing principle, the resistance iron directly jams the waiting card slot on the firing pin body, pulls the trigger to release the firing pin, the firing pin directly fires the bullet under the action of the spring, no hammer mechanism, the structure is simple, and there is no exposed hammer, it is not easy to hook and hang clothes when the gun is fired, suitable for use in small self-defense pistols. The firing pin design of the M1900 is unique, this firing pin does not have a firing pin spring, but instead uses the elasticity of the compound spring through a lever to push the firing pin.
But at that time, the Toms did not buy it: the ancestral method could not be changed, and the pistol had to be a revolver. Browning: "With you worms, how can you design a pistol?" Browning stomped his foot and said: "Then I will go?" There is no place for the grandfather to stay here.
In a fit of rage, Browning came to Belgium and became the chief firearms designer at the National Arsenal in Herstal.
