Before reading Yu Sheng's novella "Breakout" (originally published in Fujian Literature No. 10, reprinted in the 11th issue of "Selected Novels"), I thought that Vinnie was a person or an animal, such as a dog or something. It seems that my guess is still more reliable, but I did not expect it to be a bear.
To be honest, I have a tendency to the title party, I am not too interested in the title of the novel directly named by name, and even hold prejudice, thinking that the author is too sloppy, just like parents give their sons names such as "dog leftovers", "erniu", "Jinwang", "water wealth", etc., too popular and even vulgar, change others, I will not read. If you replace "Pooh" with my title of "Breakout with a Bear", it will be even more flavorful.
But Yu Sheng was my Luyuan classmate and "roommate" (during the period of social practice in Guizhou, we lived in the same room, and since then we have been called "the same room"), got 11 issues of "Selected Novels", the first one to read was "Pooh", read it in one breath. I have always thought that novels that I can read in one sitting are better and better novels.
I am very surprised, Yu Sheng has lived in Beijing for a long time, how to describe nature and the nature of Northeast China so accurately, he is from Anhui. You know, I am a donkey friend who often goes to the deep mountains and old forests, and I am quite observant of nature, and I can see the level at a glance. Maybe his childhood or adolescence was spent in a mountain village in the northeast?
Of course, a truly talented and structured writer, even if things and lives are completely unfamiliar, can write with ease, quite like that. For example, there is a guy named Klein in the United States, who became a great novelist at the age of 29, and what makes him great is the war novel "Red Medal of Valor", which is known as the best war novel in the world ever, and there is no second so far.
Klein lived from 1871 to 1900, during these 29 years he did not experience war, the wars he wrote were imagined, even Hemingway, who wrote "Farewell, Weapons" and "The Naked and the Dead", these two masters of war-themed novels, both of them worshipped him.
So a genius is a genius, if I'm not patting Yu Sheng's ass, if he hasn't had the experience of mountain village life.
Yu Sheng wrote not only about the forest, but also about the bear in the forest, and "Winnie" is the name of this bear. One year, when I was crossing the primeval forest, I suddenly heard a mountain shaking hiss, and then a quack, it was the sound of breaking the branch, I felt that the branch was at least wrist thick, no doubt, I encountered a bear, listening to the movement was in the tree a hundred meters away, less than two hundred pounds, which was a warning to me not to go near its territory, scaring me to turn around and run wildly.
Not long ago, I finished the novella "The Bear Is Coming", and seeing that "Pooh" was particularly kind, I couldn't help but write this comment that was not a review. Worthy of being a cohabitant, I have a sharp heart, but to be honest, my bear is much inferior to Yu Sheng's bear.
"Pooh" depicts the beauty of the forest and the beauty of nature, but this is only the appearance, the inside is the dilemma, the dilemma of "me", the dilemma of Pooh, the dilemma of the countryside. "I" broke my leg because of the wall and was trapped alone in a villa in the mountains where work had stopped. Winnie's mother and another cub, captured and kept captive by the lustful wicked man to extract the bear's bile, although it luckily escaped being adopted by "I", but escaped to the first fifteen, and it was not long before the evil man came to the door to take Winnie away.
The egg could not touch the stone, and "I" had to break through with Pooh. "I walked down the winding road, and seven deep pits in the snow followed our footsteps, four belonging to Pooh and three to me" (I was on crutches).
The novel ends abruptly here, but it means a lot. It's a tragic and decisive end that's great and very graphic, giving me the "what to do after Nala runs away" type of association, "I" and Pooh can go through the birth and dilemma?
The name Xu Yonghong has a deep meaning. "I" call it "eternal goose", which is the spiritual sustenance of the lonely me. Fifty geese also appear in the novel skimming the treetops. Halfway through the reading, I basically guessed that Xu Yonghong was the disguise of "my" ex-girlfriend Qi Xiaoqin, but I was not sure, because "I" often talked to her in voice, the voice could not be disguised, and "I" should be able to hear it.
Xu Yonghong refused to video with "me" no matter what, and the purpose of her "seduction" was to deceive "me" of her deposits to open a cake shop. As soon as "my" leg was broken, she broke off relations with me and followed someone else, and after giving birth to a daughter, she was abandoned by the other party.
Xu Yonghong was indeed Qi Xiaoqin, so why couldn't "I" hear her voice all the time? If there is no software that can modify the accent, and the author does not explain, this is a very hard injury (the author just reminded me that there is an audio diacritical in the text).
I remember that Márquez wrote in "Love in the Time of Cholera" that people are originally beasts, but some people, like bread coated with cream, just like bread with cream, just make their own appearance. Of course, it can't be said that Qi Xiaoqin is a beast, she is also forced by life, not bad to that point, but she is very good at disguise.
Compared with the naïve and lively Pooh, to some extent, Qi Xiaoqin is indeed inferior to animals, lacking a minimum of sincerity and loyalty. This is also the hint and inspiration that the novel gives us.
Yu Sheng is a humble gentleman of Yushu Linfeng (in recent years, his belly seems to be a little prominent, not so Yushu), quite a Republican model, but he is quite humorous. His humor is a cold humor that does not reveal a philosophical way, unlike my laughter and anger humor overflowing with words, which seems vulgar and vulgar.
Finally, let's appreciate Yu Sheng's humor:

Sun Youcai is the name of "I", which is quite well-known, appropriately fitting the identity of "I".
