Qianyang is an ordinary land, but in the wind and rain of history, it has also left the footprints of giants. Even today, we can feel their residual warmth.

Qiu Chuji (1148-1227), also known as Tongmi, was a native of Qixia, Dengzhou (present-day Qixia, Yantai, Shandong Province) in the late Jin Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, and a Taoist Quanzhen Daoist, a true Taoist, thinker, politician, writer, health care scientist, and medical scientist. At the age of 74, he was famous around the world for going to the Western Regions to persuade Genghis Khan to stop killing his beloved people (a journey of 35,000 miles).

In the autumn of the fourteenth year of Jin Dading (1174), after qiu Zhiji completed the mourning period for his master Wang Chongyang, he came to today's Chencang District and practiced for six years, regardless of spring, summer, autumn or winter, often wearing a cloak, known as "Mr. Qiao Yi". In Lingxi, he read books such as Confucianism and Taoism, studied medical knowledge, and treated the people, which was deeply loved by the masses. Subsequently, he went through Qianyang to Longmen Cave in Jingfu Mountain, Longzhou (present-day Longxian County), to study Taoist doctrine and founded the Longmen Sect with the purpose of the truth of quanlaozhuang and the self-interest of the people.

In the twenty-sixth year of Dading (1186), Qiu Chuji left LongmenDong and went to the Chongyang Palace of Zhongnan Mountain in Qinling to preside over Taoist affairs, passing through Qianyang and seeing the stone wall at the place where the Dashimen on both sides of the Qianhe River (now the Qianhe Hotel in Qianyang County, The South Qianhe Bridge) was cut and erected, and the scenery was peculiar, so he applied for several acres of land, built QuanzhenTang (addressed in a group of Xinmin Village in present-day Chengguan Town, and the Chengguan Grain Station, that is, the location of the palace), leaving his disciple Pucha Daoyuan to preside over the affairs. In the second year of Ming Chang (1191), Qiu Chuji sent Yu Shanqing (later renamed Yu Zhidao) to Qianyang to preach with Pu Cha Daoyuan at Quanzhen Hall. In the third year of Cheng'an (1198), the people of Qianyang County raised funds to apply for the purchase of guan yuan from the Ministry of Rites, expanded the scale, and renamed quanzhen hall as Yuqing Wanshouguan (Yuqingguan for short). In the tenth year (1238) of the Mongol Taizong (Wokoutai), Yu Shanqing presided over the Chongyang Palace at Zhongnan Mountain, in charge of the affairs of Shaanxi Right Taoism, and sent disciples to Qianyang to rebuild the Yuqing Temple, and upgraded it to the Yuqing Wanshou Palace (yuqing palace for short). Qingya Cave in Shuigou Village, Shuigou Town, is a Taoist place and is the lower courtyard of Jingfu Mountain in the JinYuan period. Qiu Zhiji, who had been practicing in Longxian County for 7 years, also went to Qingya Cave many times to practice. It can be said that Qiu Chuji was an important founder of Qianyang Taoism in the Jin Yuan period.

Traces left by Qiu Zhiji in Qianyang

Qiu wrote a large number of works in his lifetime, the "Collection of The Rock Creek" consists of six volumes, mainly collecting the poems he composed during the monasticism of The Rock Creek and LongmenDong. Other works include the Great Dane Zhizhi, the Theory of Recess news, and the Mingdao Collection. In the article "Letter from The True People of Changchun Qiu to Xizhou Daoyou", Qiu Chuji wrote a story of Qianyang: "Zhang Sanlang of Qianyang County, Longzhou, came back from the dead, and was the zhai family man of Wushan County (the county rule is in present-day Gong Town, Chencang District), who was able to talk about Zhang Family affairs with a little speech, and Zhang asked for his temporary return." That is, to see the old and young at home, there is no difference. Zhang buried money in a cellar, and the once ignorant pointed directly to it. He also said that in his previous life, he had died as a bird who touched the net. Reincarnated as a dog, ate wheat, and slashed for a woman's knife. The third is the god of the sheep, the firstborn slaughter. The fourth was the son of the Zhai family. Zhai was poor and Zhang was rich, and Zhai tried to borrow nine or two silks from The Zhang clan, and not only did not hook his calendar, but Zhang Made a repaid, thus paying off the debt. This story is narrated in the current language, as follows: There was a man named Zhang Sanlang in Qianyang County, Longzhou, who came back from the dead and became a boy with the surname zhai of Wushan County, who just could speak and talked about the Zhang family. After the Zhang family knew, they asked him to come to the Zhang family. Seeing the adults and children of the Zhang family, they knew each other one by one, and there was no mistake. The Zhang family buried some money in the cellar, no one knew, but he directly pointed out the specific place. He also said that in his previous life he was a bird and a finch, and he touched the net and died. The second was a dog, who ate the wheat of the people's house and was stabbed to death by a woman. The third was a sheep, slaughtered by the eldest son of a man and sacrificed to the gods. The fourth is the boy of the Zhai family. The Zhai family is poor and the Zhang family is rich, the Zhai family once borrowed the Zhang family nine two silk threads, the Zhai family paid it back, the Zhang family did not check the IOU, the Zhang family let the Zhai family repay the silk thread, so the Zhang family boy died prematurely, and later became the zhai family's children, let him pay off the zhang family's debts. Qiu Zhiji wrote this story, explaining several layers of meaning, one is that he is very familiar with Qianyang County; the second is that it is not easy to be a man, first for birds and beasts, and then for people; third, for people can not do bad things, do bad things, there will be retribution, the Zhai family has paid off the debt, the Zhang family continues to ask for debts, the Zhang family's children died prematurely, and later became the zhai family's children, let him pay off the Zhang family's debts; fourth, worship God, the beast will become a man. He told such a story about Qianyang in order to clarify the truth that "good repays evil with evil."

Qiu Has been away from Qianyang for more than 830 years. But he also had a certain influence in Qianyang. In our daily lives, we Qianyang people describe a person who is unhappy, does not smile, and loves to say a common phrase, "(Face) drum like Qiu Daoist." It can be seen that when Qiu Was in Qianyang, he was more serious and had very few smiles, and everyone was more afraid of him, which can be said to be respectful and far away. Although Qiu Zhiji was more serious and did not smile when he was in Qianyang, he had a kind and noble soul, and his pursuit of morality and his contribution to the country and the nation will always be carried forward in the hearts of the people.
