Jiuquan, Gansu, China, October 13 (Reporter Feng Zhijun) "Outlier sheep will be eaten by wolves, brothers are united and have horses to ride, and concubines have food to eat in harmony." This ancient Kazakh proverb has been repeatedly confirmed for decades in Aksai Kazakh Autonomous County in Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. Whether it is the Kazakh Eid al-Adha Festival, the Nawu Meat Festival, or the Han Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, etc., it has become a grand event "enjoyed by all" by all ethnic groups.

In mid-October, the minimum temperature in this small county town of about 10,000 people on the northern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has fallen below the freezing point, and the streets that are swept by the cold wind in the early morning are like a harsh winter. Strolling through the county seat, the roads with few traffic are lined with buildings with strong ethnic styles, and in a huge steel-concrete building, the Kazakh "felt house" is accompanied by the song of Dongbula.

This is the Jinshan Community Ethnic Unity Activity Center in Hongliuwan Town, Axe County, in order to encourage and guide the inheritance and promotion of local "national unity and family affinity", a felt-house hall that can accommodate hundreds of people to interact and communicate collectively has been specially set up. If you are interested, you can also take to the small stage for a talent show. On the giant wall on the side of the hall, there are "two-dimensional code profiles" of 56 ethnic groups in China, and one also presents the "beauty of reunion".

While running errands, the 63-year-old Gamera did not forget to meet several old friends carrying instruments such as Dong Bu La. According to the habit they have developed over the years, after each business, they still have to sing and dance in the hall of the "felt room" for a while before leaving. When she meets guests from afar, she will also tell the happy story of the development of the Kazakh people.

"Cultural activities are the best way for people to get close to each other, and on every ethnic festival day, the community will organize a variety of cultural and sports friendship activities here, and residents of all ethnic groups will gather together to sing and dance, chat freely, promote the integration of various ethnic cultures, and deepen the friendship between residents of various ethnic groups." Guli Manati, secretary of the party committee and director of the neighborhood committee of Jinshan Community in Hongliuwan Town, Aksay County, told The China News Network reporter.

Inhabited by 9 ethnic groups, including Han, Kazakh, Hui, Dongxiang, Tibetan, Uyghur, Hani and other 9 ethnic groups, a total of 1,107 households and 3,320 people are active in the community, and a national unity volunteer team composed of 270 people is active all year round, who go deep into the grid of community buildings and courtyards to publicize national ethnic policies and collect information on national unity and public opinion.

Gulimanati said that the Staff of the Jinshan Community are all "all things" of ethnic policy, and newly hired staff must also undergo strict training in ethnic policy and ethnic knowledge before they can officially enter the work. Through understanding the people's situation, summarizing the problems that the people generally reflect strongly, and mediating more than 100 contradictions such as blockage of water and sewage pipes, leakage of stairway roofs, and decoration noise disturbances, there has not been a major social contradiction or ethnic dispute in recent years.

In fact, the above is only a microcosm of the great national unity in Aksay County. Entemark, a retired local cadre, still remembers a story told to him by his aunt: his mother had difficulty giving birth when he was born, and she was already dying when she was taken to the hospital, and the family was in a hurry. At that time, the medical staff present were Kazakhs, Han chinese, Tibetans, and Hui ethnic groups, and everyone inserted oxygen and transfused blood transfusion, and went all out to rescue them. The child was eventually born smoothly, and the mother and child survived the dangerous period safely.

During the hospitalization, Untemark's aunt had no milk, and the child cried day and night hungry. When the nursing young mothers in and around the hospital heard the news, they took turns feeding Entemark to help the newborn through the beginning of life. In those days, Entemark ate milk from Kazakh aunts and Han Chinese aunts. Later, in order to remember this friendship, his family named him "Unity".

Founded in 1954, Aksai Kazakh Autonomous County, located at the intersection of the three provinces (districts) of Gansu, Qingdao and New Zealand, is one of the three Kazakh autonomous counties in the country, with 13 ethnic groups such as Han, Kazakh and Hui, with a permanent population of 10,900 people, and the Kazakh ethnic group accounts for 37% of the total population.

"In the eyes of the Kazakh people, there is no such thing as a beggar." A docent at the Aksay County Ethnographic Museum said that in the traditional Kazakh custom, when people who are "homeless and hungry" ask for help, they will open their doors and warmly welcome any ethnic group, even if they move from nomadic felt houses to settlement buildings.
