In 1977, as one of the first candidates to resume the college entrance examination after the Cultural Revolution, 25-year-old Tang Min was admitted to Wuhan University as he wished. After that, he studied economics from the Department of Mathematics, studied in the United States, and entered the Asian Development Bank. Tang Min therefore called himself "the beneficiary of the resumption of the college entrance examination." In 1998, 21 years after participating in the college entrance examination, Tang Min's name was once again linked to the college entrance examination.
