According to the Team Newspaper, former UEFA president Platini said he went to the police station as a witness, but was detained by the other side, and denied rumors of his corruption.

Yesterday, Platini, who was detained by French police on suspicion of corruption in Qatar's bid to host the World Cup, has now been released and immediately interviewed by the Team newspaper.

"It's very unfair." Platini said. "I came to the police station as a witness, but I was detained by them, and [I was detained] for too long, it was very inappropriate, and this matter crossed my bottom line."

"I'm very upset, it's had a big impact, a lot of the rumors are fabricated, I haven't figured out what I did wrong on the Qatar World Cup thing, I'm calm now because I don't feel like I have anything to do with it."
