Born in March 1915 in Laixi City, Shandong Province, he participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1937 and joined the Party in 1938. He has successively served as the political commissar of the Eighth Route Army Brigade, the chief of the People's Movement Section, the regional commissioner of Shandong Province, the political commissar of Beijing Hospital, the director of the Office of the National Bureau of Statistics, the director of the Survey and Survey Bureau of the Ministry of Urban Construction of the State Council, the vice president of the Beijing Academy of Painting, the secretary of the Party Committee and the consultant of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture.
He is currently a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the National Academy of Painting of China, and an honorary chairman of the Shandong Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature.
