Cui Zifan

From 1940 to 1945, he studied at the Yan'an Military and Political College and the Yan'an Senior Party School. Later, he served as a commissioner of the South China Sea Affairs Office in Jiaodong District, Shandong Province. After 1949, he served as the political commissar of Beijing Hospital and the director of the Investigation bureau of the Ministry of Urban Construction of the State Council. In 1956, he was appointed Vice President and Secretary General of the Beijing Academy of Chinese Painting. He is a member of the China Artists Association and a director of the Beijing Artists Association. He has loved painting since he was a child and has always been encouraged and guided by Qi Baishi. He is good at freehand painting of flowers and birds. He is good at drawing on the strengths of many families and innovating on the basis of inheriting traditions. Exquisite freehand painting of flowers and birds, but also good at landscapes. The works have a wide range of themes, simple compositions and summaries, with a simple and rough, majestic and powerful distinct style. His works are collected by the National Art Museum of China, tianjin art museum, Beijing art museum, Shandong museum, Chinese painting institute, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing Academy of Painting and national museums in the United States, Canada and Sweden. His works include "Myna", "Sparrow Loquat", "Goldfish" and so on. He has published "Selected Paintings of Cui Zifan" and "Selected Works of Cui Zifan". He has held numerous solo exhibitions.
