Cui Zifan (1915-2011) was named Cui Shangzhi, and changed his name to Cui Zifan when he was in middle school. People from Laiyang, Shandong. He is good at painting flowers and birds in large strokes, and is good at drawing on the strengths of all families and innovating on the basis of inheriting traditions. He successively served as a commissioner of the Nanhai Commissioner's Office in Jiaodong District, Shandong, a political commissar of Beijing Hospital, the director of the Survey and Survey Bureau of the Ministry of Urban Construction of the State Council, and the vice president of the Beijing Academy of Chinese Painting (now the Beijing Academy of Painting). He is a member of the China Artists Association and the president of the Beijing Chinese Flower and Bird Painting Society.
