Magpies nest in poplar trees 8-story bird nests 2 meters high to amaze

Every year in April and May, it is the season when birds are busy nesting and breeding the next generation. Recently, the villagers of Miaogou Village, Shigu Town, Weibin District, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, were surprised to find that a group of magpies had built an 8-story bird's nest on a poplar tree with a height of more than ten meters next to the highway, and the bird's nest was built layer by layer, reaching a height of nearly two meters, which was amazing after watching.

From a distance, this magpie's nest looks like a pile of messy branches, but when you step forward to observe, you can find that it is actually very delicate: the outer layer is dry grass mixed with dead branches, and the inner layer is thin branches and dirt, and it is cushioned with soft substances such as grass roots and feathers, which are clearly layered.

According to a villager in Miaogou Village, the bird's nest on this tree existed more than ten years ago, but there was only one floor at that time, and I did not expect that "more than ten years have passed, and it has been built to 8 stories high."

Villager Li Wenke said that these magpie nests are generally used when magpies are mated and bred in the spring, and when the young birds grow up, they fly high together. In recent years, every May Day, there have been small birds flying from the nest.

According to the data, magpies generally do not repeatedly nest on the same tree, but why is this tree so popular with magpies? In this regard, experts explain that magpies are very intelligent animals, and they will choose places with abundant food and beautiful environments when they nest. There is a small river near this poplar tree, the river is clear, not far away is the hillside, woods, the ecological environment is excellent, so it is regarded by magpies as a "feng shui treasure land".
