Chen Shaomin

In June 1946, we broke through to Zhechuan County, Henan Province. In a place thirty or forty miles west of the city, the relevant leading comrades of the Central Plains Bureau and the Central Plains Military Region held a meeting. Present at the meeting were Li Xiannian, Wang Zhen, Zheng Weisan, and me, as well as Zhou Zhijian of the 13th Brigade and Guo Peng and Wang Enmao of the 359th Brigade. The meeting mainly studied the problem of going in two directions. After the meeting, Li Xiannian led the Thirteenth Brigade, as well as me, Zheng Weisan, Ren Qianbin, Wen Jianwu, and others, through the Black Water Pond to Longshan in Shanyang, when they received a telegram from the central authorities, telling us to find local troops. After meeting with Tan Daopeng of Gong Defang's department, Tan arranged for me and Zheng Weisan and Gu Dachun to live at the house of his uncle and father-in-law in Longshan, while Li Xiannian and the headquarters and the guard regiment (the Thirty-seventh Regiment) lived in a nearby bamboo garden. After most of the day, Lei Zhen escorted us across the Danjiang River to a place in the mountains northeast of Shang County, eight or nine miles from the market town. I stayed here for one night and was picked up by Wang Laoba to MaJie. Later, Wang Feng brought our troops, and Wang Zhibang sent me to a family surnamed Fu who opened a medicine shop in Lintong. A detachment leader came and took me to Yao County. When I arrived at the Jujube Garden in Yan'an on December 15th and 6th, Li Xiannian and Zheng Weisan arrived early in the morning.

Wang Zhen's 359th Brigade also had a cadre brigade. He fought a battle from Zhejiangchuan to Jingziguan, wounding many people and scattering the cadre brigade (three brigades, two of which went to Shang County to find Li Xiannian). They laid down Zhen'an, and then passed through the south of Xi'an and the north of Xianyang to the horse fence in northern Shaanxi, and there were only more than 400 people. Later, the fallen troops came one after another, a total of more than 2,000 people, and the personnel of the Fifth Division stayed in southern Shaanxi to fight guerrillas.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the chairman of the All-
