Lei Zhen and Zhou Yi of the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University jointly won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award

At the 2020 National Science and Technology Awards Conference held today (November 3), Professor Lei Zhen and Professor Zhou Yi of the School of Mathematical Sciences of Fudan University completed the project "Nonlinear Inner Structure of The System of Unpressurable Fluid Equations" and won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award.

They discovered multiple nonlinear implicit structures and nonlinear identities of systems of unpressurable fluid equations, proposed the concept of "strong zero conditions" and solved several key problems in the theory of the overall fitness of their solutions:

1. The overall fitness theory of the classical solution near the equilibrium state of the two-dimensional non-compressible elastic mechanics equation system, the overall fitness theory of the classical solution near the equilibrium state of the viscoelastic equation system and the theory of the disappearance of the overall viscosity are established;

2. For the three-dimensional axisymmetric non-compressible navigator-stokes equation system, it proves the criticality of the overall fitness problem and obtains the liouville property of the bounded ancient solution, establishes a three-dimensional model that satisfies the energy equation, and discovers and accurately depicts the nonlinear intrinsic stability structure of the convection term;

3. The generalized energy integration method of angular-radial heterogeneity is proposed, and the overall fitness theory of classical solutions near the equilibrium state of Fadeyev's equation system is established.

The project focused on the overall fitness theory of several important partial differential equation system solutions in physics, eight representative papers he cited a total of 315 times, one of which was published in a domestic journal, three published in the top applied mathematics journal cpam, the research results were recognized by the top international peers including Fields Medal winner Bourgain, Tao Zhexuan, Wolf Prize and Abel Prize winner Sinai, Bocher Prize winner Lin Fanghua, Fermat Award winner Masmoudi and other top international peers recognized and called " Breakthrough results", "most eye-catching results", "firsts", etc.

Lei Zhen and Zhou Yi won the first prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education in 2011 (Zhou Yi, Lei Zhen, Du Yi), Lei Zhen won the 2014 Shanghai Natural Science Peony Award, and Zhou Yi won the third prize of the National Natural Science Award in 1997 (ranked second).
