Eric Bowman was born in Pasadena and grew up in Orange County, California. Essentially, he was a self-taught artist who, from memory, had a talent for painting and was a young artist in school during his elementary and high school years.
However, the path to professional painters was not so easy, and although he worked full-time as a commercial artist for many years, it was not until the late 1990s that he met two famous California painters by chance, and Eric's artistic worldview underwent a major transformation, and he really began a new journey of art painting.
Since then, Eric has developed a unique style and approach that has evolved through self-education and exploration.
As a nostalgic person, Eric believes in the timeless philosophy of truth and beauty, drawing inspiration from contemporary and historical resources that reflect the high standards of art a century ago.
Recipient of numerous awards and honors, Eric's paintings are collected by private and corporates around the world and have been published in national magazines in the United States, including: Western Art Collector, Southwest Art, International Artist, Western Art, Pratique des Arts (France), Fine Art Connoisseur and Plein Air Magazine.
Eric Bowman is a contracted member of the California Arts Club and the American Impressionist Association. While not painting around the West or teaching at occasional seminars, Eric lives with his wife and daughter in northwestern Oregon.
