author:Shoko talks about history

Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery is a garden-style cemetery with the highest standard structure, the most famous reputation, and the richest red education resources in the country, and it mainly buries the late leaders of the party, state, and army, leaders of democratic parties, patriotic democrats, famous scientists, writers, senior engineers and technicians, and revolutionary martyrs.

However, as the "Queen of the Lingjie", why can Liu Xikui make the five presidents fall for it, and can also be buried in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery as a dramatist, what kind of drama and legendary woman is he?

Liu Xikui, formerly known as Liu Zhihao, later renamed Guiyuan, is a native of Heilong Village, Zhaizi Town, Nanpi County, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, together with Xian Lingzhi and Jin Yulan, known as "Three Heroines", in the 7th year of the Republic of China, he was awarded the emblem of "King of Shenling", and was also a famous singer in the early Republic of China, a Peking Opera actor, a Hebei Wuzi actor, and the first modern opera actress in China.

When Liu Xikui was very popular, he turned everyone upside down because of his acting skills and famous name, and he also attracted the covetousness of many warlords, politicians, and dignitaries. At that time, Liu Shaoshao, a reporter for the Asia Newspaper who was more than a year old, was also quite unrequite fond of Liu Xikui, and repeatedly bragged for him in the newspaper, calling him "Prince Xiyan".

In this regard, Tan Xinpei, the originator of the Peking opera industry, once said: Men have Mei Lanfang, women have Liu Xikui, and I am hugh.

At that time, even Zhang Xun, Yuan Shikai, Li Yuanhong, Feng Guozhang, Xu Shichang, Cao Kun and others had beaten her idea.

The famous Liu Xikui not only fascinated countless audiences and theater fans, but also charmed the five presidents of the Republic of China. ("The Great Names of the Republic of China")

Once, Zhang Xun wanted to force Liu Xikui to marry him. However, Liu Xikui said that if you marry you, you must first cut off your braids before talking about marriage.

As a result, what surprised people was that Zhang Xun, who had publicly threatened that "the head can be broken, and the hair braid must not be cut", actually agreed to it. However, because it was just in time for Zhang Xun's failure to restore, there was no time to take care of this matter, so he gave up.

Another time, Yuan Shikai "invited" Liu Xikui to a concert (performance) in Zhongnanhai in the name of the president.

Because Liu Xikui was wary of Yuan Shikai, when she followed an errand boy to a room where no one was there, she asked the other party: "Who is looking for me, what is the matter?" ”

At this moment, Yuan Shikai came out from behind the door and pretended to be relaxed: "There is nothing to do, I just want to invite you to come and talk casually." ”

In this regard, Liu Xikui knew that Yuan Shikai did not have good intentions, so he did not humble himself and said: "Since there is nothing wrong, I still have to wear makeup." Saying that, he turned decisively and left.

Afterwards, Yuan Shikai once said to people: "That female dramatist is really not good! ”。

At the age of 28, Cui Changzhou (also known as Cui Bingchi), chief of the General Staff Bureau of the Beijing War Department, in order to marry Li Xikui, who was very popular at the time and 13 years younger than himself, actually let Liu Sidai, a tall, handsome and handsome and dignified service soldier next to him, kiss Liu Xikui himself.

At the same time, because Li Xikui was anxious to get rid of the entanglement and persecution of powerful people such as Lu Jin (the army vice minister under Cao Won, president of the Beiyang government), although he knew that Cui Changzhou had "stolen beams and changed pillars", he could only reluctantly marry him.

Soon, the news came out, and it immediately caused a sensation in the capital, and even Yuan Keding, the eldest son of Yuan Shikai, the first president of the Republic of China, was so angry that he immediately ordered him to be dismissed from his post, and even sent a killer to assassinate Li Xikui and his wife.

Therefore, Li Xikui and his wife were frightened to change their disguises overnight and fled back to their hometown in Yangcun to take refuge. It was not until Yuan "Hongxian" was defeated that he returned to the capital.

However, only three years and four months after marriage, Cui Changzhou died in a French hospital due to a recurrence of deep boils and overwork.

Afterwards, in order to keep Liu Xikui, the Cui family passed on Cui Guangchen, the nephew of Cui Changzhou's brother Cui Chengchi, to Liu Xikui. Since then, Liu Xikui has made up his mind to never marry again.

Liu Xikui did what he said, and did not remarry until he was 41 years old. At the initiative of Zhao Junqing, a fellow villager of Cui Chengchi and commander of the 74th Mixed Brigade, more than 20 Beiyang warlords, including Chen Tiaoyuan, Wu Guangxin, and Song Yuzhen, jointly presented her with a plaque of "Zhijie Xingfang."

After that, Liu Xikui stayed at home, closed the door to thank guests, and planned to withdraw from the performance stage.

However, after the Japanese invaded China, the Japanese wanted to invite Liu Xikui to perform for the Japanese soldiers, but Liu Xikui categorically refused.

In order to prevent the Japanese from waiting for an opportunity to force themselves to perform, Liu Xikui left the Japanese-occupied area that night and came to the anti-Japanese area to perform charity performances everywhere to raise funds for the War of Resistance and support the front.

Once, there was a flood in Anhui, and liu Xikui learned about it and immediately took out 2,000 yuan of silver ocean to provide disaster relief.

At the age of 58, she was nearly a year old, and she still participated in the patriotic charity performance of the Chinese people's condolence group to the DPRK, to comfort the Chinese Volunteer Army fighting on the front line of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

Later, Zhou Enlai once commented on Liu Xikui: "She is not greedy for wealth and wealth, and does not want to enjoy, so she can be so strong in the old society." Liu Xikui is the pearl of The Chinese opera world. ”

The Beijing Morning Post commented on her: "Liu Xikui is a strong promoter of the development of modern Chinese performing arts, with affection and love, laughter and tears, sorrow and joy, and intriguing. ”

To sum up, Liu Xikui is definitely a patriotic artist with both virtue and art, which should be the main reason why she can be buried in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing after her death.
