1. What was the mood at the moment when I heard that I was selected by the Fujian men's basketball team and became a Champion Show?
The mood was more exciting at the moment of coming on stage, but it calmed down after the entire draft. One is selected by the team, one is to become a champion, compared to the former is more important, becoming a champion is the moment of the stage, after the end of the draft is also an ordinary CBA professional player.
2. Before the draft, there are many people in the outside world who predict that you will become the champion of this year, will you feel pressured?
I would be honored if someone really regarded me as a champion before the draft, but at that time, I thought more about preparing myself, fully performing when I went to the team audition, no matter which team chose me, I would treat it with a 100% attitude. And before and after the draft, the identity of their own players has not changed, basketball is a favorite thing, every day with a positive attitude to face it, so it is not considered pressure.
3. About to enter a new stage of life as a professional player, are you now adapting to this transformation?
I'm lucky enough to do what I love as a profession. Judging from the trial training with Fujian, I still feel very good, and the training is also actively prepared. Previously, in the United States, I also prepared for every training and game with a positive attitude, and arranged my own time, so there was not much to feel uncomfortable.
4. Do you know much about the Fujian team and think that your characteristics can give the team any help?
Before going to Fujian, I didn't know much, and after arriving in Fujian, I felt that under the guidance of the new basketball consultant Cui, the team atmosphere was very good, whether new players or old players were training hard, and wanted to make the team better. As for myself, I hope to bring my positive attitude to the team from a psychological point of view. From a technical point of view, the first of their own confrontation ability has a certain advantage; the second has been in-depth study of basketball technical and tactical things, and the execution of the coach's tactical arrangement after entering the CBA will be relatively high; the third of their own internal technology and outside shooting are not bad. In the follow-up joint training, I believe that the above points can bring help to the team.
5. The new season will be paired with the inner line of the last season's Zhuangyuan District Junxuan, what are the expectations for the "Returnee Twin Towers" combination?
At present, I don't have much communication with him, that is, he called me to congratulate me after the draft that day. Although we are all players who have come back from playing in NCAA for a few years, everyone has different abilities and Au Jun-hyun has made great progress last year. For me, I first have to do my best, study my shortcomings in two months of training, face the game in the best state, and compete for the victory 100% no matter who I match.
6. Ou Junxuan set himself the goal of "averaging two doubles per game per game" before last season, have you communicated with him and set a similar rookie season goal for yourself?
As a player who has never played a CBA, I am not very good at judging these things, but I mainly hope to prepare myself well in these two months, learn more under the guidance of Cui, and win every game for the team.
7. What do you think are the areas you need to improve the most at the moment?
The ability to read defense on the offensive end, the ability to hold the ball on the outside, and the stability of the shot all need to be improved. The physical side also needs to be more flexible, so that the range of movement on the defensive end will be greater.
8. From ncaa to cba, what are the difficulties in this process?
Because I go abroad to play alone, I have to face all the difficulties and take on all the responsibilities alone. The pressure of life and the pressure on the court need to be overcome by a person and make psychological adjustments in time. But it's also an opportunity for a player to stay in the United States and become a better person under such a challenge.
9. When did you start playing basketball, and why did you choose the path of professional basketball?
Elementary school had an opportunity to enter the school team to play, and at that time, I was new to basketball and belonged to the poor players. Slowly to junior high school after playing better, but also realized that they may have the conditions to impact the professional arena, and then got the opportunity to contact foreign basketball, they went abroad to study, and to this day is also very fortunate to be able to step into the CBA field.
10. Have you ever planned your career?
The plan is to play well in the CBA, play to the strengths to make up for the flaws, and improve in each year. I hope that in the future, I will have the honor of entering the stage of all-stars or national teams.
11. Who are your favorite domestic and foreign players, and why do you like them?
At present, my favorite CBA player is Yi Jianlian, respecting his attitude towards the profession, the standard of self-discipline, and the love for basketball, which I need to learn. There is no foreign country at present, because their current level is not up to their height, standing far away from them, more to watch their games. I have more contact with CBA and CBA players, and I see more.
12. Some people thought that your body type and style of play would be more like Ma Jianma's coaching, do you agree? Which player do you think your style of play will be more like?
I really haven't heard of this, and I know that Ma Jianma was also a very good player before coaching. There is no feeling particularly like anyone, everyone has their own characteristics, in my opinion, we still have to find our own shortcomings, slowly to strengthen, play a personal characteristics.
13. What do I do in my spare time?
Usually, when I come back from training, I will read books, look at the computer, and chat with my family.
14. The Olympic Games have already begun, will you pay attention to some other sports besides basketball?
Not much attention, but very supportive of China's Olympic games this year, I wish them good results in the Olympic Games.
