（71）The Lion and the Bull
A lion wanted very much to catch a bull, but he was afraid to attack him for fear of his great size, and finally he thought of a trick to catch the strong bull.He came near the bull and said, “I have killed a fine sheep, my friend; and if you will come home and partake of him with me, I shall be very pleased to have your company.”The lion said this, and hoped that he might attack the bull and make his meal on him as he was in the act of lowering his head to eat.The bull followed the lion and as he approaching the lion's den , he saw the huge caldrons, and no sign of the sheep, and, without saying a word, he quietly left the place. The lion asked why he went off so suddenly without a word of salutation to his host.“I have reasons enough," said the Bull."I see no indication whatever of your having killed a sheep, while I do see very clearly every preparation for your dining on a bull.”
獅子和公牛
有一隻獅子很想抓到一頭公牛，但是他又不敢去襲擊他，因為害怕他龐大的身軀。最後他想出了一個抓住一隻強壯公牛的計策。他靠近一隻公牛說道：“我咬死了一隻不錯的綿羊，我的朋友，如果你願意跟我回家，與我分享它，我會很高興有你這個夥伴的。”獅子這麼說，是希望他可以在公牛低頭吃羊的時候襲擊他，把他給吃了。公牛跟着獅子走了，但是當他走近獅子的巢穴時，他看見了一口大鍋，沒有綿羊的影子。于是他一句話也沒說，從容地走了。獅子問他為什麼沒有向他的東道主打個招呼就忽然要走。“我有足移的理由，”公牛說。“我沒有看到任何迹象表明你咬死過一頭羊，不過我倒是清楚地看到你為吃一頭公牛做了充分的準備。”
