I. Lao She (1899-1966)
Formerly known as Shu Qingchun, he is a modern Chinese novelist, a famous writer, an outstanding language master and people's artist. The first writer in New China to win the title of "People's Artist", his representative works include "Camel Xiangzi", "Xiaopo's Birthday", "Cat City Chronicle", "Niu Tianci Biography" and so on.
MAO Dun (1896-1981)
Shen Yanbing, formerly known as Shen Yanbing, is a famous writer, literary critic, cultural activist and social activist in modern China. He was the pioneer of the New Culture Movement and the founder of Chinese revolutionary literature and art, and his representative works include the novels "Midnight", "Spring Silkworm", "Night Reading Doll" and so on. Before his death in 1981, he donated 250,000 yuan to establish the Mao Dun Literature Award.
III. Hu Shi (1891-1962)
Formerly known as Si Rui (嗣穈), he was a famous Chinese thinker, writer, philosopher, and leader of the New Culture Movement. His major works include Outline of the History of Chinese Philosophy (Part I), Collection of Attempts, History of Vernacular Literature, and Hu Shi Wencun.
4. Guo Moruo (1892-1978)
Formerly known as Kaizhen, he is a famous Chinese paleographer, archaeologist and social activist. The founder of New Chinese Poetry and the founder of Chinese historical drama, his main works include "Research on Ancient Chinese Society", "Research on Oracle Bone Characters", "The Complete Works of Guo Moruo" and so on.
V. Xu Zhimo (1897-1931)
Formerly known as Zhang An, he is a famous modern poet and essayist. The Crescent Moon School represents poets, and his representative works include "Farewell to Kangqiao" and "A Night in Emerald".
VI. Lin Huiyin (1904-1955)
Famous Chinese architect, poet and writer. The wife of the architect Liang Sicheng, the designer of the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Deepening Scheme of the National Emblem of the People's Republic of China, the main representative works are "You Are the April Day on Earth", "Lotus Lantern", "Ninety-Nine Degrees" and so on.
VII. Zhu Ziqing (1898-1948)
Formerly known as Zihua, he is an outstanding modern essayist, poet and scholar. His major works include the prose collection "Back Shadow", "You and Me", "European Travel Miscellaneous" and "London Miscellaneous", etc., and the main representative works are "Spring", "Lotus Pond Moonlight", "Qinhuai River in the Shadow of Paddle Sound", "Back Shadow", "Hurry" and so on.
VIII. Shen Congwen (1902-1988)
Shen Yuehuan, formerly known as Shen Yuehuan, is a famous Chinese writer, historian and archaeologist. Contemporary writers with the largest number of works in the collection have been shortlisted for the Nobel Prize in Literature twice, translated into the language of more than 40 countries such as Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the former Soviet Union, and selected into university textbooks by more than ten countries or regions such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. The unique style of creation has been given the reputation of "the father of vernacular literature" in the Chinese literary world. His main representative works include "Long River", "Border City", "Autobiography of Congwen", "Research on Ancient Chinese Costumes" and so on.
IX. Qian Zhongshu (1910-1998)
Formerly known as Yang Xian, he is a modern Chinese writer and literary researcher. The main representative works include "Siege of the City", "Selected Notes on Song Poems", "Pipe Cone" and so on.
10. Lin Yutang (1895-1976)
Originally named Hele, he later changed his name to Yutang and Then yutang, and is a famous writer, scholar, translator and linguist in modern China. He is a representative figure of the New Taoists, who has been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature twice, and his major works include "Jinghua Smoke and Clouds", "Laughing at Nothing", "The Feast of Life", "The Art of Living", "Lin Yutang Contemporary Chinese-English Dictionary", and translated works such as "Selected Poems of Dongpo" and "Six Memories of Fusheng".
XI. Zhang Hexhui (1895-1967)
Formerly known as Xinyuan, the famous Zhanghui novelist, the representative writer of the Mandarin Duck Butterfly Sect, is revered as the first person in the history of modern literature to "Zhanghui Novelist" and "Master of Popular Literature". His major works include "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", "The Legend of the White Snake", "The Marriage of Laughter", "The Golden Powder Family", "The Return of Yan", "Manjiang Hong", "The New Biography of Water Margin", "Paper Drunken Gold Fan", "Qin Huai Family" and so on.
XII. Liang Shiqiu (1903-1987)
Formerly known as Liang Zhihua, he is a famous modern and contemporary Chinese essayist, scholar, literary critic and translator. In his lifetime, he left more than 20 million words of works in the Chinese literary world, and his collection of essays set a record for the highest number of modern prose works published in China. His major works include "Sketches of Grace", "Selected Works of Shiqiu", "Selected Works of Liang Shiqiu", "Miscellaneous Essays of Autumn Room", "Miscellaneous Memories of Autumn Room", "Miscellaneous Notes of Seattle", "The Complete Works of Shakespeare" (translated) and so on.
XIII. Lu Yao (1949-1992)
Formerly known as Wang Weiguo, a famous contemporary Chinese writer, winner of the 3rd Mao Dun Literature Award. His main representative works include "Life", "Ordinary World", "In Difficult Days", "Yellow Leaves Falling in the Autumn Wind", "Thrilling Scene" and so on.
14. Jia Pingwa (1952- )
He is a famous contemporary Chinese writer, a representative of Chinese vernacular writers, and the winner of the 7th Mao Dun Literature Award. The main representative works are "Waste Capital", "Sick Phase Report", "Ghost Town", "February Apricot", "Full Moon", "Qin Cavity" and so on.
15. Yu Qiuyu (1946-)
He is a famous Chinese cultural scholar, theoretician, cultural historian and essayist. His major works include "Draft History of Drama Theory", "Historical History of Chinese Theater Culture", "Aesthetic Psychology of Drama", "Cultural Journey", "Notes on Mountain Residence", "Frost and Cold River", "A Thousand Years of Sigh", "Walkers Without Boundaries", "Morning Rain First Listening", "Where is the Flute Sound", "The Dark Corners of History" and so on.
