Wang Zhenqian (1914-2005), a native of Shenyang, Liaoning Province, was a founding major general.
In 1929, he was admitted to the high school class of Peking Wenhui Middle School, joined the Communist Youth League of China in 1932, and became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1936. He successively served as the head of the CPC Working Committee of the 57th Army of the Northeast Army, the chief of the Liaison Section of the Political Department of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army, the director of the Political Department of the 111th Division of the Newly Organized Northeast Army of the Shandong Military Region of the Eighth Route Army (Division Commander Wan Yi), the director of the Political Department of the Coastal Detachment of the Shandong Military Region (Detachment Leader Wan Yi, Political Commissar Qin Shimian), the Political Commissar and Director of the Political Department, the Chief Representative of the CPC of the 33rd Group of Jilin in the Military Investigation Department, the Director of the Political Department of the 7th Column of the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army (Commander Wan Yi, Political Commissar Zhou Chiping), and the Deputy Director of the Political Department of the 1st Column (Director Zhou Chiping). Wu Ruiqing (1911-2004), a native of Dawu County, Hubei Province, was a founding major general.
He joined the Communist Party of China in 1927 and was incorporated into the Red Army in 1931. He successively served as a member of the Huang'an County Township Soviet Committee and a member of the County Soviet, the director of the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion of the Huang'an County Independent Regiment of the Red Army, the chief of the Quartermaster Section of the 224th Regiment of the 75th Division of the Red 25th Army, the chief of the Quartermaster Section of the Division Supply Department, the director of the Supply Division and the Brigade Supply Division of the 344th Brigade of the 344th Brigade of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, the director of the Supply Department of the 8th Brigade of the 3rd Division of the New Fourth Army (Brigade Commander Tian Shouyao, political commissar Wu Xinquan), the cadet of the Yan'an Central Party School (1943), and the alternate representative of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Kong Congzhou (1906-1991), a native of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, was a founding lieutenant general.
In 1924, he was admitted to the Yang Hucheng Teaching Corps of the Shaanxi Jingguo Army, and later served as a platoon commander, company commander, battalion commander and regiment commander of the artillery regiment, commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 17th Route Army Of the National Revolutionary Army and commander of the Xi'an City Defense; he participated in the "Northern Expedition" and the "Xi'an Incident".
During the National War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as the brigade commander of the Independent 46th Brigade of the 38th Army of the 4th Army of the "Nationalist Army", the commander of the newly organized 35th Division, the deputy commander of the 38th Army (commander Zhang Yaoming), and the commander of the 55th Division (1945).
In May 1946, he led an uprising in Gong County, Henan Province, and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. He successively served as the commander of the 38th Army of the Northwest Democratic Coalition Army of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region (political commissar Wang Feng), the deputy commander of the Western Henan Military Region (commander Zeng Xisheng, political commissar Zhang Xi), and the deputy commander of the special forces column of the Second Field Army (commander and political commissar Li Da).
After the founding of New China, he successively served as commander of the artillery of the Southwest Military Region and principal of the artillery school, director of the Ordnance Department of the Southwest Military Region, president of the Shenyang Advanced Artillery School of the People's Liberation Army, president of the Nanjing Artillery Engineering College, deputy commander of the artillery unit of the People's Liberation Army (1964-1982), member of the Second and Third National Defense Commissions, member of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and member of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People's Congress.
