Looking back at the top ten highlights of princess Singis's career | Switzerland

It's been 20 years since Martina Singis won the race in Miami. Today, I look back at the top ten highlight moments of the swiss princess's career.

At the 1997 Australian Open, Martina Singis became the youngest Grand Slam champion of all time, winning her first Grand Slam title at the age of 16.

On March 31, 1997, the Swiss became the youngest player ever to win the WTA World No. 1, and she was ranked first in the world for a total of 209 weeks.

In 1997, he won two more Grand Slam titles, and the Swiss rising star won both Wimbledon and the US Open, and reached the final at Roland Garros.

In 1998, Singis successfully defended her title in Melbourne, winning four titles in five Grand Slam finals.

Singis proved that she was also a great doubles player, winning all Grand Slam women's doubles titles in 1998 with two different partners: Australian duo Mirjana Lusic and Paris, Wimbledon and New York partner Yana Novotner.

Ingis maintained a 29-week singles and doubles ranking at the same time as the world's No. 1 ranking.

The victory at the 1999 Australian Open was the last Grand Slam title in Martina's career, and she retired for the first time in early 2003 due to an ankle ligament injury.

In 2006, the Swiss returned to the tour and struggled to return to sixth place in the world. One of her accomplishments was winning the Roma title after announcing her 500th singles victory of her career.

After being forced to retire due to injury again, Singis returned to the tour in 2013 to specialize in doubles. She was very successful, winning four Grand Slam titles.

Singis also proved that she was a good mixed doubles player. She completed her career mixed doubles slams, winning seven Grand Slam titles, pairing up with Jamie Murray to win the 2017 Wimbledon and U.S. Open.
