The suspect sneaked into the home of the household at night and stole nearly 400,000 yuan worth of cash and jewelry, and his strange behavior of wearing the hostess's sneakers became the key to solving the case. Recently, the Hongshan police in Wuhan quickly arrested the suspects through a rapid and accurate strike mechanism.
"Oops, there have been thieves!" On the morning of October 31, Ms. Huang, a citizen of Hongshan District in Wuhan, returned home and was surprised to find that someone seemed to have come to the house. Thinking that the small drawer on the second floor stored more than 300,000 cash for her daughter to study abroad, Ms. Huang immediately went upstairs to check it out, only to find that the cabinet was pried open, and the 330,000 yuan, 20,000 Hong Kong dollars, some foreign currencies, gold jewelry, jade pendants, etc. stored inside were all stolen.
After receiving the alarm, the criminal investigation brigade of the Hongshan District Public Security Substation and the Liyuan Street Police Station immediately launched an investigation. Ms. Huang told the police that the last time she left home was on the evening of October 28, there was no surveillance installed in the home, and strangely, in addition to the theft of property, one of her towels and a pair of women's sneakers were also missing.
According to this clue, the police investigated and monitored and found that a man who left by elevator at 1:36 a.m. on October 31 was suspected of committing a major crime. The man entered the building empty-handed at 7:40 p.m. on October 30, but when he left, he changed his feet into a pair of shoes, which were the same pair of women's sneakers that Ms. Huang had not seen. When the man left, he also had an extra bag in his hand, and from the monitoring, it seemed that the shoes worn by the man when he came in appeared to be on the top of the bag.
The police deduced that the bottom of the bag was most likely a large amount of stolen cash, and the shoes were placed above the bag to cover it. The police investigation found that the access control of the community is usually open, and it needs to swipe the card to open it late at night, and the monitoring shows that the person is following others to leave the community.
According to the above important clues, the special police locked the suspect to continue tracking, and at 8 p.m. on November 1, the suspect Zeng was arrested in a community on Dazhi Road in Hankou, and the crime tools and more than 20,000 Hong Kong dollars, all foreign currency, and stolen jewelry were seized on the spot. Another 330,000 cash, the police have found part of the money, is currently in full swing to recover the stolen money.
After investigation, the suspect Zeng Mou, 38 years old, a native of Huangpi, Wuhan, has been sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment for theft many times. Zeng Mou confessed that on the evening of October 30, he took a taxi to the crime community to look for the target, and after finding the victim's door with a water bill, he deduced that the family should not have lived for a long time. Here is a duplex structure of the house, Zeng came to the upstairs platform, found that the household has a window without lock, he turned over the window into the interior to commit theft.
The suspect once confessed that he did not expect that the residents would put so much cash in the home, and did not prepare a backpack before coming, so after the theft was successful, he found a paper bag to fill the money at home, because he was afraid that others would find so much cash in the bag, he changed into the hostess's shoes, and put the towel and the shoes he wore above the mouth of the bag to cover the line of sight. Zeng mou said that his feet are relatively small, and he can barely wear the hostess's sneakers, while his slightly larger shoes have a better shielding effect.
At present, Zeng Mou has been criminally detained by the Hongshan police in Wuhan according to law for suspected theft, and the case is being further handled.
