The sensational "Liu Hongmei Crushed Corpse Case"

The case takes place in Singapore, which is known as the safest country in the world.

Compared with China, Singapore is a land of bullets, but because of its relationship with Chinese culture, relatively speaking, the Chinese people are still more concerned about it.

On June 16, 2005, a cleaner in Singapore picked up a water-soaked reddish-brown carton on a river beach. He originally wanted to carry the carton to the garbage truck, but when he approached, he found that the carton was unusually heavy.

The cleaner thought that he had found the "treasure", curiously opened the carton, only to see that the box was wrapped in a green transparent plastic bag, waiting to open the mouth of the bag, and was shocked to find that it contained an incomplete female lower body.

Frightened, the cleaner immediately withdrew his hand and quickly called the police.

When the police arrived, they immediately searched the surrounding area and found a cardboard box, which was also soaked in water, containing the upper body of the human body from the neck to the waist, on the bank of the river nearly five hundred meters from where the box was found.

The incisions in the wounds of the two bodies that were found were quite flat, indicating that the murderer's knife technique was clean and neat. In addition, after the murderer dismembered the body, he carefully cleaned it before putting it into a cardboard box, so there was no blood.

After experts pieced together, the upper body mass and the lower body piece can be perfectly combined, confirming that it belongs to the same victim. But after the spelling, the head and legs were still missing, and the police could never find them again.

As soon as such a tragic case of mutilated corpses was reported by the media, it occupied the headlines of the newspapers, and the public talked about it one after another.

Although such reports have caused panic in society to a certain extent, they have also played a positive role in verifying the identity of the deceased. Soon, someone provided clues to the police, and after further investigation by the police, the identity of the deceased was locked: Liu Hongmei, who was 22 years old at the time, petite and fair-skinned, from Changchun City, Jilin Province, China, and was introduced by her hometown to Singapore in March 2004 as a factory operator.

The two sisters rented a house together, and by the time of the crime, they had been working in Singapore for more than a year, and it was Liu Hongmei's sister Liu Yan who provided clues to the police.

Liu Yan also brought an important clue to the police, she suspected that her sister was killed by a man named Liang Shaochu.

This 52-year-old Liang Shaochu, a native of Singapore, works as a product manager in the factory where Liu Hongmei works and is also Liu Hongmei's direct boss.

Liu Hongmei was industrious and down-to-earth, could bear hardships, and soon after entering the factory, she was promoted to foreman, and half a year later, she became Liang Shaochu's assistant. This was a happy thing, but it wasn't long before Liu Yan found that her sister had some abnormal performances, paying more attention to dressing up and putting on makeup. The sister asked her if she had secretly made a boyfriend in the factory, and Liu Hongmei denied it until one time, when Liang Shaochu took advantage of Liu Hongmei's work, hugged and kissed her from behind, and was accidentally bumped into by another colleague, and the underground love affair between the two was made public.

Liang Shaochu has long been married, has a wife and three children, has a successful career, and has a happy family. After this matter was exposed, in order to save the family, he immediately left the relationship with Liu Hongmei. For a while, Liu Hongmei washed her face with tears all day and couldn't sleep all night.

Although Liu Yan is dissatisfied with Liu Hongmei's interference in other people's marriages, she is her sister after all, the two are in a foreign country, and she does not care about Liu Hongmei anymore, and no one really feels sorry for her.

Liu Yan began to channel her sister and ask her not to go to the factory, so as not to be blinded by others. Every day after work, Liu Yan went home to accompany her sister. A few days later, Liu Hongmei's mood stabilized and she was willing to communicate with Liu Yan, but as a result, she showed Liu Yan that she loved Liang Shaochu deeply and could not live without him, and said that Liang Shaochu had promised to divorce and live with her before.

Liu Hongmei's words made Liu Yan angry, so she said, she will do this again, simply the two of them will return to China. At that time, Liu Yan was in a hurry to go to work, and when he finished speaking, he left angrily. When she returned home from work, she found that Liu Hongmei was missing and did not return the next day.

Liu Yan went to find Liang Shaochu, Liang Shaochu said that he did not see Liu Hongmei, Liu Yan did not believe in his heart, and he could not do anything with him, he looked for a few days, there was no result, he went to report the case, the police let her go home and wait for the news, but did not receive the notice for a long time, until he saw the report of the corpse in the newspaper.

After the police checked, they found that Liu Hongmei's interpersonal relationship in Singapore was very simple, except for working in the factory, that is, she was renting a house with her sister. In this way, Liang Shaochu's suspicions are very large.

The police quickly summoned Liang Shaochu, and under a powerful attack, the middle-aged man confessed to the crime of killing and splitting the body without much resistance.

Liang Shaochu said that he also really liked Liu Hongmei, and the two had feelings. That day, Liu Hongmei went to the dormitory to find him, saying that she could not live without him and wanted to live with him. He was moved by the moment, and comforted that he could not do without Liu Hongmei, but he did not know how to face his wife and children. Liu Hongmei proposed that the two of them be martyred together, so that they could be together forever.

Liang Shaochu agreed to this proposal, and after discussion, the two decided that Liang Shaochu, who had great strength, strangled Liu Hongmei first, and then hanged himself. However, after he killed Liu Hongmei, looking at her corpse, he lost the courage to commit suicide.

In order to avoid punishment, Liang Shaochu divided Liu Hongmei's body into 5 pieces in the bathroom: feet, lower body, upper body and head. At the end of the body, he packed it in plastic bags, or rode a bicycle or took a bus, first threw Liu Hongmei's clothes, shoes, head and feet into the garbage can separately, and then went to the river to discard the upper and lower body, that is, the two boxes found by the police. After doing this, Liang Shaochu went to work in the factory according to the normal schedule.

Under Liang Shaochu's confession, in order to collect Liu Hongmei's body, the police launched a further search. Since the crime has been around for some time, the discarded garbage sites that Liang Shaochu has given have long been cleaned up by the cleaners, and all the garbage has been transported to the foul-smelling garbage incineration plant.

Hundreds of people wore masks, gloves, and plastic boots, carefully rummaged through tens of thousands of tons of garbage for nearly twenty hours, and finally found Liu Hongmei's head wrapped in newspaper.

The police were greatly encouraged by this harvest and continued to search, but even if it took another three days, Liu Hongmei's legs could not be found. The police speculated that they had been burned.

In the explanation of the motive for the crime, Liang Shaochu repeatedly stressed that it was Liu Hongmei who first proposed the martyrdom, and it was also the two who jointly decided that he strangled Liu Hongmei and then committed suicide. Liang Shaochu used this defense to argue that he did not have subjective intentions to murder, but only helped Liu Hongmei complete the steps of martyrdom, and finally did not carry out the martyrdom to the end because of his timidity.

However, the judge held that Liu Hongmei was dead, and the circumstances at the time of the crime were all based on the statement of the murderer alone, which was not enough to believe. Objectively, in fact, it is true that Liang Shaochu killed Liu Hongmei and cruelly discarded the body. Therefore, Liang Shaochu was convicted of homicide and sentenced to hanging.

Unsatisfied with this verdict, Liang Shaochu appealed, and as a result, the appeal was rejected and the request for a presidential pardon was also rejected.

On November 30, 2007, Liang Shaochu was hanged.

After the dust settled on the case, Liu Hongmei's body was put together and dressed up and buried in Singapore, and many people spontaneously went to send them off.

After the body was cremated, the ashes were brought back to China by her sister for burial, and the soul was considered to have returned to her hometown.
