Later, Duan Yu succeeded his father as the 16th king of the Dali kingdom, who reigned for 39 years, the longest reigning king of the Dali kingdom, and posthumously honored as Emperor Xuanren. Duan Yu was a monarch who made a difference, and he understood that establishing friendly relations with the Song Dynasty was the foundation of the founding of the country.
