Hu Ying became Chen Baxian's strong backing

Hu Ying (胡英), courtesy name Fangxiu, was a native of Dongqian County, Wuxing County, Chen Dynasty (present-day Dongqian Town, Nanxun District, Huzhou, Zhejiang).

Hu Ying's ancestors were from the Central Plains, and during the Yongjia Rebellion at the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, they followed a huge wave of immigrants to the south and lived in Wuxing County.

After the end of the reign of Emperor Xiankang of the Jin Dynasty, the imperial court adopted a policy of soil breakage (residents were registered according to their actual place of residence), and the Hu family was cut off as Wuxing people because they had lived in Wuxing County for several generations for a long time.

Hu Ying is very handsome, tall, very aura, and has a generous temperament.

Hu Ying served as a Liang dynasty official to the Wuling State Attendant, before the Eastern Palace, and later transferred to the capital to Panyu County, Nanhai County, Jiaozhou (present-day Guangzhou, Guangdong).

At that time, The Governor of Xijiang, Chen Baxian, was stationed in Panyu County, and Hu Ying took the initiative to find Chen Baxian to make friends. Chen Baxian, because he and Hu Ying are fellow villagers in the same county, are very important to Hu Ying, and the two have a deep relationship.

When Chen Baxian marched south to cross his toes, Hu Ying served with the army, and the talents of other generals and subordinates were not as good as his. After that, when Chen Baxian led his troops out, he repeatedly assigned Hu Ying to stay in the rear.

When Hou Jing rebelled, Chen Ba, after defeating Yuan Jingzhong, went north to rescue the imperial court, and on the way pacified Cai Luyang, Li Qianshi, and Hu Ying all had merit.

In the 4th year of the Taiqing Dynasty (550), Hu Ying was appointed as the county magistrate of Pinggu County (平固郡, in modern Xingguo County, Jiangxi).

After Hu Ying arrived, he burned "three fires": recruitment, grain collection, and shipbuilding.

The recruitment was very smooth, because the Pinggu people were still martial, so as soon as Hu Ying issued a call, many people came to respond.

The grain collection was also very smooth, Hu Ying's troops were strictly disciplined and friendly to the people, and after several months of hard work, they collected a large amount of grain and grass.

Shipbuilding didn't go so well. Pinggu County is densely forested and wood for shipbuilding is everywhere, but portability is a big problem. In order to facilitate the transportation, Hu Ying asked the soldier Ding Minfu to go up the river, cut down trees on both sides of the river, and then release the platoon down the river to build a warship at the mouth of the River in Pinggu County.

Due to the imminent war, Hu Ying went to the construction site to supervise the construction of warships and fought day and night. At this time, Hu Ying's father died, and he could not send his father's coffin back to his hometown, so he had to bury his father in Pinggu County.

Then, Hu Ying commanded the fleet, carrying new soldiers, grain and grass, and went to meet Chen Baxian, and was praised by Chen Baxian.

Chen Ba was first proclaimed emperor, and Hu Ying was used heavily

In the same year, Chen Ba advanced his army and stationed himself in Xichang County, Luling County (present-day Taihe County, Jiangxi), and sent Hu Ying to serve as the county commander of Baqiu County, Luling County (in present-day Baqiu Town, Xiajiang County, Jiangxi), in charge of the transportation of military grain.

Chen Ba first arrived at Yuzhang County and sent Hu Ying to supervise Yuzhang County.

In the first year of Chengsheng (552), Emperor Yuan of Liang appointed Hu Ying as a false festival, a general of the Iron Horse, and an assassin of Luozhou, and was made the Marquis of Hanyang County, with 500 households. Soon, Hu Ying was appointed as the Inner History of Yuzhang Commandery and followed Chen Baxian to guard Jingkou.

Northern Qi sent troops to attack, and the governor Hou Yao led the troops to resist, and Chen Baxian selected 3,000 soldiers to deploy to Hu Ying, and sent him to accompany Hou Yao to break the Northern Qi troops.

In the first year of Shaotai (555), Hu Ying was appointed as the False Festival, the Governor of Southern Yu Prefecture, the General of Light Vehicles, and the Assassin of Southern Yu Prefecture. The following year, Hu Ying was appointed as the general of Zhijie, Shanqi Changshi, and Renwei, and soon became Danyang Yin.

After Chen Baxian became emperor, Hu Ying also served as a general of the Left Guard, and other official positions remained.

After Emperor Wen of Chen succeeded to the throne, he appointed Hu Ying as a servant, the governor of Wu Prefecture, the general Xuanhui, and the assassin of Wu Prefecture. However, Hu Ying did not go to his post, and was reappointed as The Taishou of Yixing County, and the title of general was still the same.

In the first year of Tianjia (560), Hu Ying was appointed as the Commander of the Scattered Horse and the Taishou of Wuxing County. In June of the same year, Hu Ying died at the age of 54, and was posthumously awarded the title of Shizhong and Zhonghu Army, with the nickname "Zhuang".

After Hu Ying's death, his son Hu Liutong succeeded him to the title.

Hu Ying's younger brother Hu Shuo (胡铄) has been following Hu Ying to lead the army. After Hu Ying's death, Hu Shuo commanded his subordinates. Hu Shuo successively served as the Taishou of Donghai Commandery and Yuzhang Commandery, and later promoted to the post of Commandery of the Outer Scattered Horse, General Xiongxin, and Taishou of Liyang County.

In the 6th year of Taijian (574), Hu Shuo died and was posthumously awarded the title of Guizhou Assassin.
