Cha Kexin returned with the new album "Curious Xin", "Super Creator" advanced to "Magical Mother"

All along, Cha Kexin has been active in the public eye as a bilingual host, singer-songwriter, radio DJ, stage actor and other multiple identities, which can be described as a veritable "super creator". And music is undoubtedly the area she loves the most and can release the creative energy the most. Today, as the mother of a four-year-old child, it is the birth of the child that ignites her more curiosity about the world, stimulates her desire for expression, and also provides inspiration and nourishment for this new album that has been absent for many years - the name of the album "Curiosity" is derived from this.

In "Curious Xin", Cha Kexin uses the current life as the basis to construct an interesting fantasy world. An arranging team of nine independent musicians (East China - The Right to Reshape the Statue, Guoguo - Sunset Bike, Tiger - Pet Accomplice, Monkey - Dawenxi, Wu Tao - Dada Band, Wu Jianjing, Li Jian - Big Wave, Wang Yu - Elenore, Chen Shuo - Tea Herbal Powder) contribute to this mysterious little world with a modern and warm electronic style. With her creative power, she not only independently completed the songwriting of the entire album, but also deeply participated in the production process and played the role of co-producer.

As the only female singer-songwriter in China to create an album from the perspective of a new mother, Kelly, who maintains unlimited curiosity, continues to expand her musical boundaries in her creation. Bringing together nine independent musicians to work together to arrange the music, this is Kelly's long-awaited challenge and attempt. The different personalities of each song make "Curious" glow with a more playful color.

At this point, the album finally presents the mental resonance of Kelly and the different styles of the nine musicians, which is a concentrated explosion of the individual talents of each creator. This rare attempt in the indie music circle also gives the album a more groundbreaking significance at the production level.

Each song in "Curious" is written in a different perspective, recording Kelly's thinking and feelings as an independent woman entering a new stage of life. And her new identity as a mother is undoubtedly the most important source of inspiration for the entire album.

The mother-son chorus "Koochi Koochi Beep Beep", which is both childlike and trendy, records her happy parent-child time playing games with her son. This leads to a fantastic story about the "Candy Monk" band's journey from the "perfect" world of 2185 back to the modern era, and is also a key thread that connects the entire album. In the animated MV of this single, the three young creatures of Candy Monk and her son Kammy, who were hand-drawn by her, lit up new lives under the magic of the animation. It was also Kelly's first attempt to cross the field of independent animation.

"Goodnight Nobody" uses sensual and warm good night songs to restore the warm scene of snuggling up with his son before going to bed and reading picture books. Hundreds of classic bilingual picture book stories at home are naturally given a tune, and the fairytale lyrics exude love and happiness.

Through the eyes of children, Kelly also discovers a new perspective on life - in "What What", the 8Bit tone that travels freely is equipped with a refreshing retro rhythm, as if to give us a chance to liberate from the "adult" body. "Forever 8" is an innocent declaration of always staying curious and seeing the world with the heart and eyes of an 8-year-old with a pop rock in one go.

Of course, curious "Xin" is not only concerned with children, but also with the perception of partners and life - in "The League of Fathers and Sorrows", Kelly expresses her understanding and love for the other half with a sympathetic and slightly witty tone, starting from the details of daily life; "(My Version of) A Perfect Life" slowly expresses the true meaning of a perfect life in a gentle tone of sympathy.

The most important part of the album for Kelly is still the analysis and reflection of his inner world. "Modern Contradictory Unity" uses the briskness of City Pop and the harmony of big and small tones to deconstruct the source of endless contradictions and unity in people's hearts. "Do You Know What I Mean", under the electronic laying of a little solemn atmosphere, with a narrative singing to promote the gradual explosion of countless emotions, hitting the inexplicable verbal barriers in human communication. At a time when more and more mothers are suffering from postpartum depression, this is undoubtedly a good medicine to soothe the soul.

The ending of "I Can Hear You, Smile" echoes "Let the Dolphins Fly", which runs through the magical connection between dolphins and life, and extends the observation scope of curiosity "Xin" to the home of the earth on which we live. The resulting "Let the Dolphins Fly" marine protection campaign is also ongoing.

"Curious" brings Kelly's super creative spirit to the extreme. From the cover glasses to the font of the album's English name, Kuriosity, to the corresponding paintings of each song, all were hand-drawn by her. Through the magical glasses on the cover, everyone can see a different colorful world, and this is the ultimate meaning of "curiosity".

"Curiosity" is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Cha Kexin, and "Curious Xin" will be an inexhaustible story, and Kelly, who has always maintained a creative state, will carry out a variety of unknown actions with a new experience and cognition, please wait and see.
