I am a poster volunteer and I am Wang Yixuan, the red storyteller. The story I want to tell you today is "A Man, a Mountain, and a Battle."

On the east bank of the vast Weishan Lake, a magnificent heroic mountain stands. This mountain is green and green, and was once known as Cypress Mountain. Later, it was named Jinhe Mountain because there was a hero Chen Jinhe who sacrificed his life to explode and sacrifice heroically on the mountain.

Chen Jinhe was formerly known as Chen Yuhe. Born in 1921 in Shanzhuang Village, Guanqiao Town, Tengxian County. He lost both parents at the age of 5 and was wandering and begging. When he was a teenager, he let go of cattle, played iron, became a monk, and experienced the bitter suffering of the world. At the age of 18, Chen Jinhe joined the Eighth Route Army with a passion for blood. In the army he participated in dozens of battles, large and small. In 1942, he was honorably joined the Communist Party of China and promoted to machine gun squad leader. Under the leadership of Chen Jinhe, the machine gun squad was brave and tenacious, and the Japanese were defeated and feared.

In the winter of 1945, shortly after Japan announced its surrender, the Kuomintang, in order to monopolize the fruits of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, mobilized troops to control the main traffic routes along the Jinpu Railway Line, focusing on attacking the Liberated Area of Shandong. Chen Jinhe was in charge of the 23rd Regiment of the Eighth Division of the Shandong Military Region, and was ordered to pull out the defending enemy at Baishan. Open the traffic line between Lincheng and Weishan.

At eleven o'clock in the middle of the night, the battle began. After more than four hours of fierce fighting, most of the defenders had been annihilated. However, more than 70 remnants of the enemy guarding the bunker in the northeast corner of the hilltop still resisted with strong fortifications. If we cannot take the bunkers before dawn, as soon as the enemy arrives, our army will be attacked on its stomach and back. If Baishan loses its hand, it means that there is no commanding height between Lincheng and Weishan to defend, and the southeast gate of Lincheng is likely to fall into the hands of the enemy. At this time, our army had no heavy weapons, and to blow up this arrogant bunker, only a fast grenade was left, and the situation was extremely urgent. The regimental commander gave a final order that the battle must be settled within ten minutes, or retreat immediately.

If you withdraw from the battle, it means that the previous comrades-in-arms will be sacrificed in vain, and the whole battle will be lost, at this time the trumpet of reinforcements in the direction of lincheng will sound, the defenders in the bunker will be even more rampant, and the incessant machine gun strafing is also mixed with insults, Chen Jinhe's green tendons will bulge, and the teeth will clatter, "Company commander, I am a communist, I am on." Before everyone could react, Chen Jinhe jumped up and rushed into the enemy's fire net, he would run at great speed, crawl forward, bullets kept hitting around him, the dust splashed all over his head, and finally he swerved back to the bunker with difficulty, and at this time, the comrades who covered his fell down in rows, he knew that it was too late to go to the wiring, so he looked back at his troops affectionately, holding a grenade in one hand, and resolutely pulling the fuse with the other hand.

The battle was won, and the city was saved. However, Chen Jinhe turned into a pine tree on the top of the mountain, and Commander Chen Yi said at the all-army cadre meeting: "Chen Jinzhi is a communist fighter through and through, a hero who has won the revolutionary war. In his honor, the machine gun class he was in before his death was named Chen Jinhe class. The local government renamed Baishan to Jinheshan. Whenever there is a Clear Day, the people who come to the shrine will pay deep respect to the noble soul of this Spring Festival.

I'm a communist, I'm on! Becoming the slogan of that era, Chen Jinhe shouted that he fell on the way forward, but behind his indomitable figure, a great new China stood up, and he was an eternal monument in our hearts!
