author:Sanxiang Metropolis Daily

Recently, the staff of the Management Office of Xuanzhou National Wetland Park in Hengshan, Hunan Province, during their daily patrol, they were pleasantly surprised to find the figure of the national second-level protected animal - the gray crane, which is also the first time that the wetland park has found this species of bird.

"What we see now is the national second-level protected animal - the grey crane, which is also a newly discovered species since the construction of our wetland park, there were only two when it was first discovered yesterday afternoon, and there are already 9 today." On October 20, on the real-time monitoring screen of the provincial migratory bird monitoring and protection station in Xuanzhou National Wetland Park in Hengshan, Hunan, the staff of the management office saw that on the sandbar not far away, nine gray cranes strolled idly, sometimes spreading their wings and circling, sometimes falling on the nearby river beach to rest and forage, forming a beautiful ecological map.

"Not only the grey crane, but also recently we have found white spoonbills, white-fronted geese and other national second-class protected animals in the wetland park." The arrival of these migratory birds is mainly because through the construction of our wetland park in recent years, the ecological environment has become better, and the species have increased, and now this area is also relatively rich in food. Yang Hui, a monitor of the monitoring unit of the Xuanzhou National Wetland Park Management Office in Hengshan, Hunan, told reporters.

In recent years, Hunan Hengshan Xuanzhou National Wetland Park has fully implemented ecological restoration and wetland protection, recreating the wetland ecology of water and lush vegetation, providing superior conditions for the arrival of migratory birds. Today, the number of birds in the wetland has increased from 85 to 135, and it has become an important stop for many migratory birds.
