On November 7, the winter was established, and the whole country ushered in a cold wave warning. While we were busy enjoying the snow and eating dumplings, Iraq had just experienced an attempted "coup."
In the early hours of the same day, a drone full of bombs sneaked into the "green zone" of Baghdad, the Iraqi capital, and attacked the Prime Minister's Palace with unmistakable accuracy. Fortunately, the country's Prime Minister, Mustafa Kadimi, was not injured.

Then Kadimi made an urgent speech, we all know who is behind it, wait and see, we will expose them, and Colonel Bras Farman, an official of the National Intelligence Agency, will not die in vain.
Good fellow, dare to love before the death of one, according to Kadimi, the murderer should be the same gang. It can be seen from this that the security situation and political game in Iraq are tense, and killing a colonel is not counted, and it is news that the prime minister must be killed.
Among them, there are a few details worth noting. The first is the location of the incident, the prime minister's official residence is located in the "green zone", which was established near the former presidential palace in Iraq after the US military occupied Baghdad. Not only are embassies stationed in various countries, but the US military and Iraqi government forces are also patrolling at any time, which is one of the few "safe zones" in Iraq.
The problem is that this drone full of explosives is ready to come and go, apparently to "behead" Kadimi. So how did it break through the barriers and go straight to the Prime Minister's residence?
Secondly, the attitude of the United States is very subtle, after the incident, the United States Department issued a statement, severely condemning the matter, after learning that Kadimi is not a big problem, "the United States is relieved", saying that this is an obvious "act of radicalism". In addition, the United States also stressed that although it has nothing to do with us, the US military in Iraq will still stand with the Iraqi people and help fight against "radical organizations".
You know, the foreign forces involved in Iraq are not only the United States, but other countries have not spoken out, and the United States has jumped out to take a stand first, which is a bit intriguing. Moreover, it is not the US Embassy that is speaking out, but the US State Department, which means that there is no silver three hundred and two here.
Sure enough, after the US issued a statement, the outside world speculated that this was a play of the US military", which was aimed at creating chaos and proving that there were a large number of "radical organizations" in Iraq, and continued to stay in Iraq under the name of "helping anti-terrorism".
After all, as early as August this year, when Kadimi met with Biden, he issued an "eviction order", and we have the ability to deal with "radical groups", so we will not bother you, hoping that THE US military can withdraw from Iraq as soon as possible.
At that time, Biden did not explicitly agree, but only promised to completely stop the combat mission of US troops in Iraq starting from January next year. The implication is that we can not fight, but we do not want to withdraw from Iraq.
What is more interesting is that Kadimi did not specify who was behind it, but the United States has already made up its mind that it was done by a "radical organization", as if to warn Iraq, look, we can't go, and we have to stay and help you clear the "obstacles".
The most crucial point is that just the day before the attack, a large-scale demonstration and protest broke out in the "green zone", and many Iraqis went to the "green zone" to express their dissatisfaction with the results of the congressional elections. In this election, the "Sadr Movement" led by Shiite leader Mohammed Sadiq Al-Sadr won and had priority in forming a cabinet.
Here to add background knowledge, after the US military launched the Iraq war, the political system of Iraq was reformulated, the Shiites served as the prime minister, the speaker of the parliament came from the Sunnis, the president had no real power, and was held by the Kurds, similar to Lebanon.
It stands to reason that the Shiites formed a cabinet, but Sadr is a well-known anti-American fighter, which is very interesting.
Sadr was born into an "old" Shiite family in Iraq, his father was a Shiite leader at the time, and his uncle was a good friend of Iran's then-President Khomeini, and the influence of this family in the local area was not low. Later, Sadr's father, brother and uncle were killed for opposing Saddam Hussein, and he was the only one who survived.
Although the United States launched the Iraq War and hanged Saddam Hussein, it was tantamount to avenging Sadder in disguise, but as the leader of the nationalist Shiites, he was even more opposed to foreign invaders. Therefore, after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime, Sadr took the opportunity to co-opt the exiled government forces and formed the "Mahdi Army" to continue fighting with the US army.
The Mahdi army grew bigger and stronger step by step, once reaching 60,000 people at its peak, becoming a thorn in the eyes of the US military, and the United States has launched many beheading operations against Sadr, but none of them have succeeded, but it has made him more popular.
After eight years of fighting with the U.S. military, Sadr realized that there was no way to drive the Americans out through armed struggle alone, so he entered the political arena and established the "Sadr Movement." In the 2018 Iraqi parliamentary elections, the "Sadr Movement" became the largest faction in the parliament, and the only thing that can compete with him is the Fatah Alliance.
Both are Shiites and have in common anti-American, the difference being that the Fatah Alliance is pro-Iranian and Sadr is anti-Iranian. Although his family has great ties to Iran, and he himself has lived in Iran for many years to escape persecution, he insists that Iraq should be decided by the Iraqis themselves.
Due to Iran's opposition, Sadr was not elected to parliament that year. It wasn't until the Parliamentary Election in November that he made a comeback and was successfully elected as the new Prime Minister. Sadr is not yet in office, and Kadimi remains prime minister in transition.
The reason why he is called the transitional prime minister is because of the large-scale riots in Iraq in 2019, which were triggered by the dismissal of the deputy commander of the anti-terrorism force, Saadi, and the official reason was illegal access to foreign embassies, but public opinion believes that it was because Saadi was unwilling to be with pro-Iranian corrupt forces and was retaliated against.
In just one month, the protests have killed 319 people and injured 15,000. In desperation, then-Prime Minister Abdul Mahdi was forced to resign, and the head of the intelligence service, Qadimi, was appointed as transitional prime minister. The reason why Kadimi is optimistic is that he has the support of the United States and Iran at the same time, and even the old enemies of the "Sadr Movement" and the "Fatah Alliance" have also announced their support for Kadimi.
Let's brush up the relationship, the people protest that the government is too pro-Iranian, so they replaced a pro-American Kadimi as prime minister. But Kadimi is a man of left and right, not entirely pro-American, and Iran weighed it up and accepted the offer. It is not difficult to see that this protest, which is very much like the "Arab Spring", should be promoted by foreign forces behind it.
Returning to the original question, at the crucial moment when Sadr won the election and was about to form a cabinet, there were sudden protests and attacks on the Prime Minister's Office. And he recently publicly announced that he would collect all the weapons of the non-state forces, which caused dissatisfaction among Iranian-backed militias.
On November 5, at the instigation of militias, Shiite hardliners protested and demonstrated against the election results in the "Green Zone", after which the Prime Minister's Office was attacked.
On the surface, it was Iran behind the plot that planned the attack, but there is a notable news that just two days ago, Iran announced that their uranium had been enriched to 60 percent, reaching 25 kilograms, just one step away from nuclear weapons. The United States is naturally unhappy, coupled with the situation of Iran's belly and back, if relations with Iraq deteriorate at this time, it is self-evident who will benefit.
The truth behind the scenes is not yet known, but it is certain that there is no interference from foreign forces. Sadr is also not a soft persimmon, and since Kadimi knows who the killer is, they will certainly join forces to retaliate against him, trying to find a balance between the United States and Iran and avoid falling victim to the great power game.
