Hello everyone, I am Li Yuanyuan, the red explainer of the Yan'an Detachment of the Armed Police, have you heard this exciting and majestic song just now? Yes, it is the famous "Song of the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University", which for more than seventy years has traveled through time and space, inspiring generations of people to go forward and fight hard, as if to bring us back to the glory days of the heroic resistance of the whole nation.

In January 1937, in order to meet the needs of the national situation at that time, the Chinese Anti-Japanese Red Army University, which had just moved to Yan'an, was renamed the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, with the aim of training cadres and trainees for the anti-Japanese resistance. Since then, among the mountains and mountains of Yan'an, a group of enthusiastic young people with the ambition to repay the country have been active.

"Use cave dwellings as classrooms, stones and bricks as desks and chairs, and lime and mud walls as chalkboards." This is the American journalist Snow once lamented in "Journey to the West" that the conditions for running a school are so difficult that "the school building is not afraid of bombing this kind of 'institution of higher learning', and I am afraid that there is only one in the world." ”

However, the harsh living conditions could not stop the patriotic young people from rushing to Yan'an, and they resolutely marched toward this hot land with the slogans of "serious difficulties, inability to save the country, and there is no way to save the country, and they all want to resist the great and think that they are happy" and "they will not stop until they resist the great oath."

It was in this context of the times, in order to encourage the members of the Kang University to study hard and shoulder the responsibility of resisting Japan and saving the country, in November 1937, Mao Zedong asked Kaifeng, the head of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, to compose a new school song for the Kang University.

Kaifeng was excited after accepting the task, looking at the groups of enthusiastic young people who gathered at home and abroad at the foot of the pagoda mountain to find the truth of anti-Japanese salvation, he was excited, and quickly composed lyrics flowing from the depths of his soul and handed them to The 27-year-old young composer Lu Ji. On November 10, Lü Ji repeatedly recited the lyrics, completed the musical conception in the image of the Yellow River in the song, and expressed the passion of the anti-Japanese resistance, and then sang it on the spot to Luo Ruiqing, who was the vice president of the Kang University at the time, and other leaders, Luo Ruiqing said excitedly after listening to it, I have heard a lot of school songs, but my favorite is this one.

"Like the surging waters of the Yellow River, expelling the Japanese from the east of the country, advancing towards a new society, advancing!" Inspiring lyrics, impassioned tunes, in that era of war, the song of the Anti-Colonel became a call to unite the strength of the whole nation, leading countless enthusiastic young people to the front line and composing a song of heroes who saved the survival of the dead.

Time flies, the beacon is gone, but the anti-university song has lasted for a long time, and has been sung to this day with its inspiring appeal, and has become the school song of the National Defense University, inspiring generation after generation of young people to forge ahead and bravely serve the country.
