The school site is located on the right side of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on Dexuan West Road in Guangzhou, with Zhang Tianjue as the principal.
At the beginning of 1937, Mr. Zhang Tianjue initiated the renaming of Jianguo Middle School to "Zhirui Middle School". Since then, he has commemorated the division commander of General Xu Zhirui, a famous general of the Northern Expedition under Zhang Fakui. With the approval and strong support of military commander Zhang Fakui in August 1937, Jianguo Middle School was officially renamed "Zhirui Middle School". Since then, the school has achieved rapid development and growth.
In October 1938, due to the fall of Guangzhou, "Zhirui Middle School" was closed in Guangzhou.
