JIN Li, MEMBER OF THE CPPCC National Committee: How can we be without "him" on maternity leave?

author:China Youth Network

"They said your proposal this year was about 'Daddy' on vacation, is that a rumor?" In the eyes of everyone, Jin Li, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a professor at the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, is an out-and-out economic celebrity, and it is logical to suggest how to prevent and control investment and financial risks. However, at this year's two sessions, Member Jin Li took a sharp side and focused on the topic of "Daddy".

"I call for the use of the legal system as a 'mandatory' means to promote paternity leave for men, thereby optimizing the demographic structure of our country." For this matter, Jin Li is serious, too many friends around him have personal experience, "Both men and women are excellent talents, but after the establishment of a family, the heavy responsibility of having children and raising young children falls on women, and men are generally considered to be good as long as they earn money to support their families." ”

Similar cases have been heard too much, and one of Jin Lee's judgments is that this concept has not been in line with the reality of social development. "Today, women and men are equally educated, enterprising and valuable in human capital. Putting the responsibility of childcare on women makes it difficult for them to accept, and even some couples give up childbearing because of this matter, which is bound to bring about a growing population aging and low birthrate. ”

At the same time, Jin Li also found that because of fertility problems, young women are often difficult to gain favor when recruiting in enterprises, or hindered in their career development.

"In businesses, almost all bosses will say, 'You can't do this without you.'" In fact, a man's paternity leave will not affect the normal operation of the enterprise, but it is such a warm 'compulsion' that will make the 'helmsman' of the enterprise think that this is not only the law he should abide by, but also the responsibility for the employee's family and a harmonious society. It is for this reason that Kim Lee suggested legislating to force "Daddy" to take leave.

In the proposal he prepared for this purpose, the core proposal can be condensed into 3 sentences: the paternity leave system can be incorporated into the national legislative documents, enhance the awareness of social groups on paternity leave, and take the initiative to protect their own rights and interests; when dealing with enterprises that do not implement paternity leave, local departments should have laws to follow; the state should standardize the scope of welfare benefits from the formulation of laws, regulations and policies, give certain subsidies for rights protection leave, and share certain economic pressure for enterprises.

"Daddy", parenting is not something you can't do!
