There are many kinds of earthworms, there are about 2500 kinds in the world, 229 species have been recorded in China, and there are four commonly used by anglers:
1, black earthworm: mostly grow in the soil fertile with dead branches and leaves or drier places, the body is light black, generally 50-80 mm, there is a fishy odor, after the skin breaks out of the faint milky white liquid.

Black earthworms and green earthworms are less commonly used and are generally used for fishing for meat-eating fish. Purchased from the fishing tackle shop is mainly red earthworms and "Daping No. 2", when selected, the selection of higher activity, fat and thin according to the target fish to decide, small fish with small earthworms, large fish with large earthworms.
With earthworms on the bait, there are mainly knot hanging, barrel hanging, waist hanging, tail hanging, winding hanging and so on.
Section hanging: also known as rice festival hanging, the earthworm is cut into small sections of rice length, hung on the tip of the hook, the main fishing for small crucian carp, tender seeds and so on.
Barrel hanging: from the waist of half of the earthworm into, stop at the mouth of the earthworm, the tip of the fish hook does not come out of the mouth, with the body of the earthworm wrapped around the turning fish hook, called the barrel hanging. Waist hanging: The hook is inserted laterally from the waist of the earthworm, hanging only once.
Tail hanging: the fish hook is penetrated from the tail of the large earthworm, wrapped in the hook strip, and the front half of the earthworm's body is outside the tip of the hook, which can squirm and curl.
Winding and hanging: After crossing the tail of the earthworm with a fish hook, then fold the earthworm back and cross it again, repeating many times, the head and tail of the earthworm that is wrapped and hung should remain squirming.
Autumn and winter fishing crucian carp, earthworm swinging posture under the water can attract the attention of fish, can stimulate the fish's desire to hunt, through the barrel hanging, waist hanging, tail hanging can be used, but will accelerate the death of earthworms, or low stability, it is recommended to use winding hanging, to maximize the activity of earthworms, and there will be no pulling situation.
Compared to "wet" earthworms, it needs to be dried and stored in dry, clean soil for a day or two. In order to maintain the humidity of its own skin, earthworms will slowly drain the moisture in the body to prevent dehydration, and you will find that the earthworm body will become thinner, redder and have better clapability.
Earthworms do not atomize, the smell is not large, if the fishing effect is poor, you can use wine rice, bran cakes and the like to nest first. Or use the pack fishing method to spread a layer of bait on the outside of the earthworm to enhance the effect of luring fish.
Some anglers like to shoot the earthworm to death and then use it, which is convenient for hooking and preventing decoupling, but this will greatly reduce the fishing effect of earthworms, earthworms are living creatures, and the effect of swinging underwater posture is incomparable to that of commodity bait.
Autumn and winter crucian carp, it is recommended to use a thin hook, barbed hook type, such as a stream hook, there will be no decoupling phenomenon.
In addition to the earthworm itself swinging to lure the fish, the cold crucian carp activity is not high, you can use the appropriate method of lifting, pulling, dragging the fishing rod to tease the fish, stimulate the fish to bite the hook. Often this small action, the crucian carp can not hold back the impulse.
Hanging earthworms can be reused, but when the activity of earthworms is low and the fishing efficiency becomes poor, it needs to be replaced in time.
