Changsha, 3 May (Xinhua) -- Leaders of the workers' movement, wizards of Huangpu, bridges between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China, and generals of the Northern Expedition... The life of revolutionary hero Jiang Xianyun was a short life, and even more a glorious life.

The former residence of Jiang Xianyun, located in Dapingtang Village, Xintian County, Hunan Province, is the patriotic education base of Hunan Province, and every Qingming season, people from all walks of life and primary and secondary school students will spontaneously go to mourn this revolutionary hero.

Jiang Xianyun (1902-1927), also spelled Xiangyun, Wushan, a native of Xintian, Hunan, was an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China in the early days of the Communist Party of China, a revolutionary revolutionary, a leader of the workers' movement, and a military general.

In 1917, Jiang Xianyun was admitted to the Hunan Provincial Third Normal School in Hengyang. In 1919, Jiang Xianyun participated in the May Fourth Movement and established the Shonan Students' Federation in Hengyang, where he was elected director general. In 1921, Jiang Xianyun and others initiated the establishment of the progressive group "Heart Society" to promote new culture. He soon joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League and joined the Communist Party of China in the winter of the same year.

In the summer of 1922, Jiang Xianyun went to Anyuan, Jiangxi to carry out the workers' movement, taught at the workers' night school and participated in the preparation of the workers' club, served as the head of the club's clerical unit, and led the Anyuan workers' strike together with Li Lisan and Liu Shaoqi. In November of the same year, he was ordered to establish a party organization and workers' club in the Shuikoushan mining area, and in December he led a general strike of the Miners of Shuikoushan and won the victory.

In May 1924, Jiang Xianyun entered the first phase of the Whampoa Military Academy and served as the secretary of the special branch of the Whampoa Military Academy of the Communist Party of China. Zhou Enlai, then director of the political department of the Whampoa Military Academy, praised him as a "highly qualified student of the military academy" and "a general." After graduating from the military academy, Jiang Xianyun stayed at the school as Chiang Kai-shek's secretary.

In 1925, under the leadership of Zhou Enlai, Jiang Xianyun initiated the establishment of the Young Soldiers' Federation, and was one of the leaders of the association. In the same year, he participated in the Eastern Crusade against Chen Jiongming and the rebellion of the Warlords Yang Ximin and Liu Zhenhuan of The Diangui Warlords. In August, he was appointed as a party representative of the 7th Regiment of the 3rd Division of the 1st Army of the National Revolutionary Army, and soon led his troops to participate in the Second Crusade.

After the Zhongshan Incident in March 1926, Jiang Xianyun withdrew from the Kuomintang and the 1st Army. After the start of the Northern Expedition, he was dispatched by the party organization to serve as the secretary of the General Headquarters of the Northern Expeditionary Army and the commander of the 5th Regiment of the Supplementary Regiment, and participated in the attacks on Jiujiang and Nanchang.

At the beginning of 1927, Chiang Kai-shek's counter-revolutionary conspiracy was increasingly exposed, and Jiang Xianyun resolutely went to Wuhan to serve as the leader of the workers' picket corps of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, and proposed the establishment of the Huangpu Students Anti-Chiang Kai-shek Committee. In May of the same year, the Nationalist government in Wuhan decided to continue the Northern Expedition, and Jiang Xianyun was appointed as the commander of the 77th Regiment of the 26th Division of the 11th Army of the National Revolutionary Army and a party representative, leading his troops north to Henan, and died heroically in the battle to capture Linying City on May 28.

After Jiang Xianyun's death, Zhou Enlai personally presided over a memorial service in Wuchang, when the weekly newspaper "Guide", an organ of the CPC Central Committee, published a eulogy entitled "Tribute to Comrade Jiang Xianyun." Marshal Xu Qianqian called Jiang Xianyun "resolute in struggle, brave in battle, quick in mind, and an example for young soldiers," and personally wrote an inscription for him: Jiang Xianyun martyrs are immortal.

Jiang Xianyun's revolutionary feelings and patriotic fighting spirit inspired the people of his hometown. In order to commemorate him, Xintian County named a bustling street in the county seat (the direction from the county seat to Jiang Xianyun's birthplace) Xianyun Road, and repaired Jiang Xianyun's former residence, and the non-governmental organization established the Xintian County Jiang Xianyun Research Association.
