Jiang Xianyun, the head of the "Huangpu Three Masters": Always be a Communist Party member!

"Choice" of "Ideal Shines on China" was broadcast

Hunan Daily, New Hunan Client, June 17 (Reporter Deng Zhengke Correspondent Chen Dani) "The head can be broken, and the Communist Party cannot be sacrificed!" On the evening of June 17, the series of short dramas "Ideals Illuminate China" "Choice" tells the story of Jiang Xianyun (Wang Yibo), the head of the "Three Masters" of the Whampoa Military Academy, who did not yield to the magnates and resolutely chose to be a communist.

In October 1921, Jiang Xianyun joined the Communist Party of China together with Xia Minghan, Jiang Xiaoqing and six others, becoming the first batch of Communist Party members in Shonan. In 1924, during the first Kuomintang-Communist cooperation, the Whampoa Military Academy (the Chinese Kuomintang Army Officer School) was founded, and aspiring young people from all over the country came to apply for the examination, including Jiang Xianyun, who threw in the pen. The examination requirements of the Whampoa Military Academy are very strict, and candidates must pass the preliminary examination, re-examination and general examination, which includes Chinese language, mathematics, history, geography and other subjects. Jiang Xianyun finally stood out from more than 1,200 outstanding young people who took the general examination and became a first-term student of the Whampoa Military Academy with the first place.

After Jiang Xianyun enrolled in school, in accordance with the decision of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party to cooperate, he also joined the Kuomintang, thus becoming a cross-party member. This scholar of both literature and martial arts, ranked first in the door examination, created a miracle in the history of the Whampoa Military Academy, and won the appreciation of Chiang Kai-shek, president of the Whampoa Military Academy, and Zhou Enlai, director of the Political Department. After graduating from the military academy, Jiang Xianyun chose to stay at the school as Chiang Kai-shek's secretary. During the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communists, Jiang Xianyun did a lot of political work conducive to cooperation between the two parties and reconciled the relations between the two parties. According to their academic performance, social skills and performance in battle, the teachers and students referred to the best of the first batch of students, Jiang Xianyun, Chen Geng and He Zhihan, as the "Huangpu Three Jie", and Jiang Xianyun ranked first among the "Three Jie".

On March 20, 1926, the Zhongshan Incident broke out, and the relationship between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party took a turn. Chiang Kai-shek mobilized his army to martial law in Guangzhou, arrested Li Zhilong, surrounded the Soviet consulting post, expelled the Whampoa Military Academy and the Communists of the National Revolutionary Army headed by Zhou Enlai... Jiang Xianyun, as a cross-party member, was forced to make a choice.

Chiang Kai-shek repeatedly expressed to Chiang Xianyun his love for talent and seduced him with official power. But Chiang Kai-shek did not expect that his proud protégé would openly confront him. In the auditorium of the military academy, Jiang Xianyun took the lead in standing up and loudly announcing: "I, Jiang Xianyun, am a communist, and I will always be a communist!" The head can be broken, and the Communist Party cannot be sacrificed!" Subsequently, one officer after another stood up, made public their identity as a communist, and announced their withdrawal from the Kuomintang.

At the beginning of 1927, Chiang Kai-shek's counter-revolutionary conspiracy was increasingly exposed, and Jiang Xianyun proposed the establishment of the Huangpu Students Anti-Chiang Kai-shek Committee, and served as the leader of the Hubei Provincial Workers' Picket Corps to lead the troops north to Henan. On May 28, in the battle to conquer Linying City, Jiang Xianyun died heroically at the age of 25.
