Chen Yuxin, born in February 1950, was originally named "Liu Yongmei". At the age of two, due to the difficulties of family life, he was inherited to the Chen Yaoyun family of Gujia Village in Shunjiang Township, Xinjin, and renamed "Chen Yuxin". Among the four Liu brothers - Liu Yongyan, Liu Yongxing, Chen Yuxin, and Liu Yonghao, Chen Yuxin, who ranks third in line, has always been low-key. Hope Group is now composed of the Xinjin Base directly managed by Chen Yuxin and the four major groups of Mainland Hope, Oriental Hope, Huaxi Hope and New Hope, which are led by the four Liu brothers. Among them, Huaxi Hope Group was founded in 1997, by the founder of hope business, hope group general manager Chen Yuxin as the chairman, the group currently has more than 100 agriculture and animal husbandry, education, real estate and other companies.

The glory years have a future in mind
Reporter: As far as we know, your business began at the end of 1982, and the "Yuxin Fine Seed Farm" founded at that time was also named after you. Why did you resolutely quit the "iron rice bowl" and go back to the countryside to develop aquaculture?
Chen Yuxin: Because I grew up in the countryside and know a lot of things in the countryside. I was admitted to university in 1978 and studied agriculture. During my college years, I visited many of the famous "Tomato King" and "Winter Melon King" at that time. After coming back, I think that as long as the national policy permits, we will not be inferior to them, and we are still very confident. During the university period, the four of us discussed together, and after graduation, I came out to start a business first. At that time, many people did not understand, including some of my relatives and friends. Because everyone thinks that after coming out of the countryside, going to college, and becoming a state cadre after graduation, the "iron rice bowl" is inconceivable to lose it. However, when encountering such good opportunities and conditions for reform and opening up, the four of us brothers are particularly excited, want to do things, and want to do things. After graduating in 1982, I worked in the county agricultural bureau and made a report on "staying off pay" and returning to my hometown to develop professional households. At that time, the leaders of the unit also supported it, and then reported to the county, and the county also supported it, but the county did not dare to approve it, and did not have this power. The county personnel bureau reported to the Wenjiang District Personnel Bureau at that time, and the regional personnel bureau did not dare to approve it, and then reported it to the provincial personnel bureau, and the provincial personnel bureau did not dare to approve it, and also reported to the provincial party committee in charge of the leadership, and finally did not dare to approve. As a result, when the Wenjiang District Personnel Bureau replied to our county personnel bureau, it wrote out this process in my "suspension of pay" report, and asked the county to deal with it as appropriate. In fact, at that time, it was the early stage of reform and opening up, and many policies and regulations had not yet come out, and our Xinjin was still relatively open. To fight like this now seems inconceivable. An undergraduate, after graduation, went to the countryside to support the current policy, but at that time, it was inconceivable to alarm the provincial party committee. Therefore, in the forty years of reform and opening up, there are indeed many things worth recalling.

Passion dare to be the first in the world
Reporter: When you started a business, did you encounter any difficulties? What impressed you?
After I graduated and started working, the monthly salary of undergraduates was 42.5 yuan at that time, there was no money at all, and there were two children in the family, an old mother. So, when I started my business, I didn't pay for it, and my three brothers made up 1,000 yuan by selling watches and bicycles. I'm in good health, I contribute. At that time, I went to the county party committee with Liu Yonghao, and Secretary Zhong personally received us. The secretary affirmed our approach, and at that time he said, "If you go to the countryside to develop professional households, this general direction is definitely right, and I support you." At that time, he also assigned us a task: to bring ten professional households up within this year. After a year, I reported to Secretary Zhong and led eleven households, more than 10% of which completed the task. Later, Secretary Zhong actively promoted our practice to the outside world, and when a leader came, he brought it over to visit and investigate. Many provincial leaders and national leaders have also come to see us. So I think we're lucky. At that time, private enterprises or professional households like us encountered many problems in the early stage of development, and many enterprises could not survive, but in our Xinjin, we survived and developed. As a Shinjin native, I am very lucky to be born in the land of Shinjin. Because Xinjin is close to Chengdu, the ancient water system has developed, forming some dock culture, which is very inclusive. At present, many leaders in Xinjin are not locals, but after coming, they soon feel that we in Xinjin are right to develop the private economy, and we have always been very supportive.

Reporter: In 1989, how did you and your brothers think of handing over the "Hope Feed Factory", which was in full swing in production and operation, to the county? It is said that you also specifically sought out the county party secretary at that time?
-- Because at that time, there were discussions in society about the surname "capital", the surname "society", the practice of capitalism, and so on, and we were very uncomfortable. We found Secretary Zhong again. I said, Secretary Zhong, it really can't work, so we'll hand over this enterprise to the government. Secretary Zhong said that how to do this is definitely not possible. Secretary Zhong has always said on many occasions that college graduates go to the countryside to develop professional households, and this path is definitely correct. When urban intellectuals go to the countryside and to the grassroots, the direction is certainly right. At that time, it was the early stage of development, and in many places, it was difficult for private enterprises like ours to survive in that situation. But in Xinjin, with the strong support of the county party committee and the county government from beginning to end, we not only survived, but also quickly developed and expanded.
Waving the fang rhymes with hope
Reporter: Originally it was "Yuxin Fine Seed Farm", and later when you established the group company, it was named "Hope Group".
——At first, our brothers discussed, and I came out first, because my family was in the countryside, I started my business as a "professional household", so I named the enterprise after my name "Yuxin". Later, after Song Jian, director of the State Science and Technology Commission, arrived in Chengdu, he was very interested in us, and he came to us to help us engage in aquaculture. After reading everywhere, he was very excited and gave us an inscription: "China's economic rejuvenation is pinned on socialist entrepreneurs." We are very happy that the leaders have positioned us as entrepreneurs, and we are socialist entrepreneurs, and we are socialist entrepreneurs who hope for China's economic rejuvenation. Then one day, we looked at the inscription "Hope for Socialist Entrepreneurs" and there was the word "hope" in the middle, so we named the enterprise "Hope." ——In the first ten years, our four brothers operated and managed this factory in Xinjin, and then developed to a certain extent, and we needed to develop and expand abroad, so we applied for it and registered the "Hope Group" in 1992. It is also the first private enterprise group in China approved by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Looking back on the journey, creating hope
Reporter: In the development process of Hope Group, what enabled you to always strengthen your confidence and tide over the difficulties?
The first is to have confidence in the policy. At that time, the most needed thing was the "reassuring pill", and Secretary Zhong and Song Jian both gave us the "reassuring pill". Subsequently, the central government issued many relevant documents on the support and encouragement of private enterprises. We believe that the starting point for reform and opening up to have a relatively large impact on us is the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Because the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee began with rural reform. I was in college at the time, and I was very happy and very lucky about it. Xinjin is a fertile ground for the development of private enterprises. At that time, when Xinjin attracted Naiss to invest, I heard that the chairman of Naiss personally came to Xinjin to investigate. They feel that the Hope Group has grown and developed from here, and its ability to go to the whole country fully shows that this place is conducive to the investment and development of private enterprises. Because of the "Hope" brand, the site they chose was next to the Hope Feed Factory.

Reporter: General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the strategy of rural revitalization, how do you think Xinjin should seize the opportunity of rural revitalization?
With the opening of Metro Line 10 next year, with the construction of Tianfu New District, part of our Xinjin is in Tianfu New District, so this is a very good opportunity. At this time, I think that xinjin should have a great attraction for many enterprises, especially private enterprises.
Reporter: Xinjin proposed to build a "Chengnan Sub-Center and Binjiang Park City", do you think that under such a historical opportunity, what should Xinjin do to create a new world?
——This is more complicated, this is systematic, the county party committee, the county government system thinking, system planning, I think our future development of Xinjin will definitely be very good, because it has the advantage of location, can not be copied, rare, and will be better and better!
