Jiaxiang County is located in the western part of Jining City, Shandong Province, belonging to the alluvial plain of the Yellow River.

Jiaxiang County was first named after the Spring and Autumn Period when the Duke of Lu'ai was born, due to a historical allusion of "Western Hunting and Obtaining Lin".

In the fourth year of Ming Hongwu, Jiaxiang County belonged to Jining Province, shandong Province, and Hongwu belonged to Yanzhou Prefecture for eighteen years.

At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Jining Prefecture, the capital of Yanzhou in Shandong Province, and in the thirteenth year of Yongzheng belonged to Jining Prefecture, the capital of Yanzhou. Forty-one years qianlong belonged to Jining Prefecture.
