The film debut "American Girl", produced by the well-known director Lin Shuyu and directed by the emerging director Ruan Fengyi, has been shortlisted for seven awards at this year's Golden Horse Awards, and "mother-daughter file" Lin Jiaxin and Fang Yuting will compete together for the film. Lin Jiaxin crossed the sea to be interviewed by Taiwan media on the 28th, and she admitted that when filming, she almost filmed with the mood of "the last one".

"American Girl" held a video press conference on the 28th, attended by director Ruan Fengyi, and connected with Lin Jiaxin, the golden horse film queen who played a cancerous mother in the film. Lin Jiaxin confessed: "I was a little resistant to playing the role of mother." But touched by the script, Ruan Fengyi also mentioned that when Lin Jiaxin met, he put his arm around her shoulder and said, "Director, then give me the role!" Let Ruan Fengyi suddenly be at a loss and feel like a dream.

"American Girl" is set in 2003 sars-ravaged Taiwan, and when filmed, it was a time in 2020 when the world was threatened by new crown pneumonia. Lin Jiaxin said: "In such a difficult situation, I really thought, maybe this is my last performance, the last film. It was the first time I'd been away from home for so long, and I was vulnerable."

Lin Jiaxin has two girls, and her own experience has some similarities with "American Girl". Before filming, she went bowling with her two daughters, Fang Yuting and Lin Pintong, in the film, and during the filming, she chatted every day and made breakfast for them on the scene. Lin Jiaxin said: "So we have plenty of time between us to cultivate a real mother-daughter relationship!"

In the film, there is a scene where Lin Jiaxin helps Fang Yuting pluck out her ears, and director Ruan Fengyi said that in fact, there was no such action arrangement, "I saw Jiaxin's husband take a photo of her helping her daughter pull out her ears, and remembered that when I was a child, I had my mother to help me pull out my ears, which triggered inspiration to join this scene."

Lin Jiaxin was quite surprised after hearing it, and she also shared: "Because of this scene, she was really exposed, and almost her tears and snot dripped into Fang Yuting's ears, but fortunately the director shouted the card in time to quickly wipe it off!" 」 However, although Lin Jiaxin was shortlisted for the film, because she had already planned to accompany her mother to Canada, "my mother needs me", she regretted not being able to come to Taiwan to participate in this Golden Horse Event.
