"In the past, such as yesterday's meeting, in the future, everything is like today's life; in the past, we ate tobacco and drank alcohol, and in the future we will become a new person and hand over our whole lives to the party." These are a few lines of large characters on the wall of Li Xin's former residence. Speaking of the older generation of Communist Party members in Yunnan, when it comes to the history of the revolutionary struggle in those years, we will definitely mention him. He pioneered the "three immortals" in the local history of the Communist Party of China in Yunnan: the founder of the local organization of the Communist Party of China in Yunnan, the pioneer of the peasant movement in Yunnan, and the pioneer of the industrial and mining movement.

In October 1897, Li Xin was born in Yuewangzhai, Longshan Town, Longling County. In early 1915, he went to Kunming to study, and in 1920 he was admitted to the Department of Agronomy of Nanjing Southeast University. In the autumn of 1925, Li Xin, together with Wang Fusheng and others, initiated the establishment of the Yunnan Reform Society, a progressive organization for young people in Beijing in Yunnan, which was changed to the "New Dian Society" the following year to carry out research on Marxism-Leninism and founded the progressive journal "Innovation", which was sent back to Yunnan in each issue, becoming the vanguard standard-bearer of spreading new ideas and new cultures in Yunnan, especially the propaganda of Marxism-Leninism. In the same year, Li Xin gloriously joined the Communist Party of China in Beijing.

In August 1926, the Guangdong District of the Communist Party of China sent Li Xin back to Yunnan, and under his leadership, he created the Yunnan Special Branch of the Communist Party of China. After the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup, the focus of the underground party's work in Yunnan shifted from Kunming to the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway and the industrial and mining lines along the line, and Li Xin rushed to southern Yunnan to serve as the secretary of the CPC's Southern District Committee. At that time, the old tin mine was the most concentrated place for workers in Yunnan, with more than 100,000 people. Mobilizing tin miners to rise up to resist and struggle is an important and urgent task of the local organization of the CPC in Yunnan.

Wang Desan, secretary of the Provisional Party Committee, said: "An old cauldron is like a big cauldron, and if this cauldron boils up, the whole of Yunnan will also boil." But because the mine capitalists were armed and exercised slave-like control over the workers, it was always difficult for the party organizations to penetrate deep into the mines. After Li Xin arrived in southern Yunnan, he was determined to overcome all difficulties and go deep into the mines to carry out work.

Li Xin, who has a bookish appearance, does not look like a dry miner at first glance, and even the door of the mining area can be entered. Li Xin was determined to change his appearance, he practiced walking and running barefoot every day; he picked up the water barefoot and went down the mountain to give to the peasants; he was exposed to the fiery sun naked, tanned and peeled off his skin, wiped his body with river sand and charcoal ash, made his skin rough and blackened, grew a thick beard, and refined into an old farmer who had suffered from wind and frost, and even those who knew him best could hardly recognize him.

Together with the workers, Li Xin ate "three children's rice" mixed with sand, stones, and barnyards every day, wore tattered linen clothes, and did super-physical cattle and horse work. Li Xin recorded the history of the suffering of the workers, used popular folk tunes among the miners, filled in the lyrics exposing the exploitation and oppression of the capitalists, and told the suffering of sanding, and compiled more than 20 songs and ballads, such as "Walking the Factory Tune", "Moon Sigh poverty", and "Twelve Glasses of Wine", which were copied and widely circulated among the miners. He secretly established the Red Trade Union among the workers, developed Communists among the first conscious workers, and established the first mine branch of the Communist Party in Yunnan.

During the years of the mine, the inhuman living conditions, the heavy labor of the miners, and the sinister labor movement activities made Li Xin infected him with pink eye and scabies like other miners. He often had red and swollen eyes, abscesses all over his body, and was itchy and itchy. The higher-level party organization was very concerned about his health, and repeatedly advised him to quit the mine and receive treatment in another place. But Li Xin was unwilling to give up the results of the difficulty of entering the mine, he said: "It is very difficult to enter the mine, and it is necessary to change someone else to do it, and you have to start from scratch, and your body may not be able to bear it." ”

The rise of the old mine workers' movement attracted the attention of the authorities of the tin company, and when organizing the strike struggle, Li Xin was unfortunately arrested due to the leakage of secrets. On May 16, 1929, he bravely rebelled against the stone wall outside the West Gate of Mengzi, at the age of 32. When Li Xin was sacrificed, he was wearing a torn linen cloth and grass shoes on his feet, and his whole body was destitute.

A student, for the sake of the revolutionary struggle, changed his appearance, and even paid for his life. His faith was like a torch, his ideals were like blazing, and he wrote a magnificent chapter worthy of the party, the country, and the people with his blood, and erected an immortal monument in the land of Yunling.
