The "Collection of Calligraphy and Paintings of a Generation of Grass Saint Lin Sanzhi" contains an old landscape work of Lin Sanzhi from 1926, named "Ancient Wood Mountain House Map", which was in the fifteenth year of the Republic of China, and Mr. Lin Sanzhi was twenty-eight years old.
Lin Sanzhi's 1926 "Ancient Wood Mountain House Map"
"Ancient Wood Mountain House Map" section:
Each ancient tree of Hengshan residents has the meaning of desolation and coldness, and only the history of Mengquan can get its remains. Yang Qiao Ren Brother Zhengzhi, Ying Yin Xia Sanzhi Lin Lin wrote in the Scattered Wood Mountain House.
"Ancient Wood Mountain House Map" is partially recognized
The "Hengshan Resident" in the book is Wen Zhengming, because his ancestors were Hengshan people, so he was called Hengshan Resident, known as "Wenheng Mountain", painting multi-master Fa Shen Zhou, died in the year of ninety. "Mengquan Waishi" refers to the Qing dynasty Xi Gang, Xi Gang also spelled "Tie Sheng", the number "Scattered Wood Resident", was a disciple of Hua Song, whose landscape style belonged to the Lou Dong school, and had Wu Men penmanship, died in the year of fifty-eight.

The person in the above paragraph "Yang Qiao Ren Brother", the specific information and the birth and death are ominous. According to existing records, there are two gentlemen, Fang Yangqiao of the Qing Dynasty and Chen Yangqiao of the Republic of China. Fang Yangqiao is the predecessor of Ren Bonian, who once wrote "Hua Zhu Sanduotu" for Fang Yangqiao to celebrate his seventy-first birthday. Ren Bonian was born in 1840, and Lin Sanzhi was born in 1898, so it is inferred that Fang Yangqiao must be Lin Sanzhi's predecessor, and the word "benevolent brother" in the style is definitely inappropriate. Chen Yangqiao of Cixi, there is no specific record, it is rumored that he died in May of the second year of the Republic of China, that is, in 1913, but the creation time of this "Ancient Wooden Mountain House Map" was 1926, so it seems that the Yang Qiao Ren brother here is not Chen Yangqiao.

Back to the painting itself, at this time, Lin Sanzhi had not yet studied with Huang Binhong, and the methods and characteristics of his landscape paintings in this period were worth studying. The author thinks that from the perspective of money knowledge, Lin Sanzhi has a lot of respect for Xigang landscape, plus Xigang's ancestral home is Shexian County, Anhui, and Huang Binhong is the same township, 62 years after Xi Gang's death, Huang Binhong was born. They are all former sages of Anhui calligraphy and painting. Before Lin Sanzhi went to Shanghai to seek advice from Huang Binhong, it is also unknown whether he had taken fa Xi Gang in his hometown in Anhui. Because Lin Sanzhi's early landscape works are rare, it is difficult to verify. However, when some characteristics of Lin Sanzhi's paintings and calligraphy in the 1950s and 1960s are linked, it seems that it is possible to associate "scattered wood mountain houses" with "scattered wood residents".
