As a traditional lacquerware art, gold lacquer inlays have been around for thousands of years. It shows crafts with a strong "Beijing flavor", which is one of the eight best in Yanjing. The appearance of wooden tires is coated with large lacquer, and then various crafts are used on it, which is the most mainstream decorative method of ancient wooden furniture and utensils. In the old trade in Beijing, these lacquer processes other than carving lacquer are collectively referred to as "gold lacquer inlay". In Chinese home life, gold lacquer inlay is widely used, from screens, beds, cabinets, tables and chairs and other furniture, to vases, boxes, plates, ornaments, as well as plaques and hanging screens, which can be seen everywhere.
Gold paint inlay is a gate class, there are many types of craftsmanship, but it is necessary to first make a wooden tire of pine wood according to the design, and then cover it with hemp mounting paste, scraping ash, paint many times, the thickness of ash and paint is determined according to the decorative needs, and the paint tire is made after polishing. Then the decoration is carried out, and the masters use hundreds of tools and techniques to leave a picture on the paint surface. Among them, it can be roughly divided into painting, gold painting, carving, gray carving, mosaic, etc., and the effects are different.
