2. What kind of opportunity made you create the book "Contest"?
Wu: Tongcheng is a place with a deep revolutionary tradition, and my ancestor Wu Fan once plotted to assassinate the five ministers of the Qing Dynasty who went abroad to investigate at the Beijing Railway Station on September 24, 1905, and was defeated and heroically sacrificed, and Mr. Sun, the father of the country, personally wrote a memorial text: There is a sentence of "Wu Jun, struggle to throw". During the May Fourth period, Tongcheng was the first to issue a telegram to support The Students of Beiping. During the anti-aggression period, the Kirishiro Cadets took down a Japanese aggressor's plane and fought several victorious battles. Here, the Guangxi warlords, the Central Command, the Military Command, the Japanese, the underground party, the guerrillas, the four detachments of the New Fourth Army and other forces are intertwined, intricate, and many stories have occurred, which is the source of my creation of "Contest".
3. For Zhang Fengshan, the male protagonist of "Contest", do you have a character archetype when you create it?
Wu: My grandfather was a student of the fourteenth term of the Whampoa Military Academy, a major officer of the government at that time, and fought many battles with the Japanese army, my grandmother was the president of the Confucius Old Street Chamber of Commerce, my grandfather died of injuries in the early days of liberation, and his grandmother told me some of his stories sporadically, which took root in my young soul and was also the driving force that inspired me to create "Contest" later. They're not exactly story archetypes, but they have their shadow.

4. In the book "Contest", what is the role and influence of the relationship between the male protagonist Fengshan and the female protagonist Xu Yuqing on the development of the story?
Wu: The hero and heroine live in a special era, love is also marked with a special label, Xu Yuqing is a lurker, but also a "sleeper", she was appointed to monitor Zhang Fengshan, but also know Zhang Fengshan's "identity", so she wants to "fight" for him. Zhang Fengshan's real identity is a commissioner of the organization, and his public identity is a spy, which was not revealed until the eve of liberation. This kind of intertwined, love-hate relationship due to the ultimate goal and mission is the main line of story development, which makes the reader feel confused and lets the reader appreciate the cruelty of that war era.
5. How do you evaluate the relationship between Zhang Fengshan and Xu Yuqing?
Wu: My feeling is "ice and fire", and the cold appearance envelops the fire inside.
6, for Zhang Fuhai (Zhang Fengshan's father), it seems that it is difficult for us to simply distinguish between him being a good person and a bad person, what do you think of this character?
Wu: Zhang Fuhai was a hui businessman, he was shrewd and cautious, he was in the same stream as the political circles but not in line with the dirt, influenced by the propaganda of the government at that time, he was prejudiced against the organization, but when the national crisis came, he dared to stand up, bear the insults and burdens of humiliation. We cannot distinguish people by virtue of good or bad, but can only consider him in the context of a specific era, as long as he does not betray his compatriots and betray the interests of the nation, he is a qualified person.
Third, the heroship and righteousness of the protagonist Zhang Fengshan is the real history, not the reunion for the reader to see.
7. Readers generally like the reunion ending, Teacher Wu, why do you do the opposite, and finally let Zhang Fengshan be heroic and righteous?
Wu: There was a poet in the Tang Dynasty in Tongcheng named Cao Song, who had a poem: "One will become famous and ten thousand bones will wither." Moreover, with the change of dynasties, the happy China is now bought with the blood of countless martyrs, and there are many heroic people who have martyred the country before the dawn, which is very normal and common, after all, the old forces will not be so willing to withdraw from the stage of history. Zhang Fengshan is only one of the representatives, and his heroic righteousness is not only in line with the plot, but also more in line with history, and can also restore the original face of history.
8. Your "Contest" is different from the common urban science fiction theme of online literature, nor is it the theme of the president of the giants, but another way to choose the Republic of China spy war series, can you share the reasons for choosing this theme with readers?
Wu: I am known for my realism, living in this land that was once on fire, feeling that those revolutionaries have not gone far, and those moving and gripping stories always make it difficult for me to sleep, so I feel that it is the mission of our generation of writers to write out their heroic feats and educate the next generation.

Wu: Of course, the story of "Contest" takes place in Wencheng, that is, Tongcheng, which is a place with a very deep cultural heritage and the birthplace of the Jianghuai cultural circle. This is the spiritual home of my creation, just as Gaomi is mo yan's spiritual home. A writer is influenced by the living environment, and only the people and things that acura is in that land can be regarded as truly derived from life, and the work has more vitality.
10. Teacher Wu, most of your previous works were mainly published, what kind of considerations did you choose to launch on the online platform this time?
Wu: In the past, my works were mainly published in the traditional way, but with the development of the Internet, various new communication media emerged in an endless stream, and the online literature platform is a new thing for me, which represents the future of China's literature, not only has strong communication ability, but also has great economic strength, and can better play the benefits of my works, so my cooperation with online literature platforms is only the beginning.
