"5 years ago, I was going through one of the toughest moments. In a way, I wanted to find something different, to approach things from different angles, to leave a comfortable life, and then I decided to make such a movie." Directed by Alejandro. It does sound crazy, after all, we all know what kind of movie this is: it lasted 5 years, traveling between Canada and Argentina, and everyone had to endure the extremely low temperature. Little Plum refused the props, instead of eating real animal offal, sleeping on horse's stomachs, climbing over mountains and mountains, all the hard scenes seen in the movie are actually experienced by the actors.
However, even in the face of numerous obstacles, faced with almost zero chances of survival, Hugh. Glass persevered, and so did the directors and actors. It was a triumph of the human spirit, meaning that we could be indomitable, that we were able to overcome all odds, that it was an experience of rebirth.
"The Revenant" is not simply a film about revenge, it depicts a great survivor and the emptiness after his successful revenge, "What the director wants to do is to create an epic in this story." Leonardo said.
"Whether it succeeds or not, it will be immortal."
The Revenant is also a film about the relationship between man and the natural world, as Little Plum said in her Oscar-winning speech.
In 2015, while filming The Revenant, the crew had the hottest year of all time and had to run south to shoot.

An Indian named Starlight, who has lived in this land for more than 50 years, originally made a living by hunting, but now he has given up hunting.
Because his son once disappeared on the way to go hunting with a friend, he searched for a long time and did not find it. So Starlight prayed to nature to return his son, so that he could no longer kill any animal, cut down any tree, and eat a fish. In the film, Leonardo plays a fur hunter, and it all starts with a fur hat.
In the 19th century, the hat became a symbol of European men, a symbol of status, and everyone's dress was inseparable from it.
So there were 20 years of so hard and terrible, the Native American people were almost extinct, and people embarked on a path of animal and environmental profit, and "The Revenant" indirectly showed this cruel history through the fur trade.
In a way, that's what this movie is all about.
