In the orchard, Tian Jinfeng picked long dates while happily sharing the villagers' stories of getting rich to reporters. "In the past, only a few villagers planted long dates, but because of technical and market reasons, the income from planting long dates ranged from tens of thousands of yuan to as little as one or two thousand yuan." Tian Jinfeng said that in the past two years, under the leadership of the village committee, the villagers have improved the planting mode and used farm manure while expanding the planting area. As of this year, the planting area of long jujube in Shangqiao Village has reached 5,100 mu, with an annual output of 3 million kilograms.

With the guarantee of production and quality, the jujube industry has rapidly grown into the core pillar industry of the village and has become the rich fruit of the villagers. According to statistics, in 2020, the per capita disposable income of Shangqiao Village will reach 19,024 yuan, of which the per capita income achieved by long dates will reach 8,300 yuan, and there are 16 growers with an income of more than 150,000 yuan. This year, with the bumper harvest of jujubes, the per capita income achieved by jujubes will exceed 10,000 yuan. Villagers are energetically picking long dates in the jujube garden, and the joy of the harvest is overflowing; the long jujube market at the head of the village is full of people, and the merchants are bargaining with the villagers about the long dates they have just picked, and the long dates that have been negotiated at a good price are packed and directly pulled by truck to Beijing, Chongqing, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Hebei and other places for sale.

"Our long dates are covered with farm manure, and when we take a bite, they are full of the taste of childhood." "In the past, our agricultural products were all purchased by people, with a single sales channel and a large output. Now e-commerce and logistics are very developed, products are sold in all directions, completely unsafe to sell. With the dual guarantee of online and offline markets, the villagers' confidence is even stronger. Xu Shaoyuan, secretary of the party branch of Shangqiao Village, told reporters that at present, the village is planning to build a 700-square-meter cold-chain warehousing plant, supporting the construction of a 300-square-meter jujube cultural exhibition hall, to provide cold-chain warehousing services for e-commerce enterprises and villagers in the village, to attract more young people to return to the village to start a business, and to achieve "the return of talents and the return of funds."
