DCEU producer Hiram Garcia confirmed that a spin-off of Black Adam is in development and that the announcement should be released soon.
In an interview with Collider, Hiram Garcia, producer of Black Adam, said a spin-off of the work was under development.
Garcia confirmed that they are discussing with many factions at Warner and DC what stories they want to tell and how to bring those stories to life.
"We never saw this as a one-off movie. I'm an invincible comic-loving nerd and fan, and I love the universe so much that you can tell from the excitement I'm talking about all these things. I always go into this space with this vision, and that's the story we want to tell, that's where we want to see it, and that's how we see the picture playing, maybe including spin-offs of individual characters, but on the imaginary whiteboard, there's always a rough, loose outline in our heads that says what we want to do. But, ultimately, we need this movie to be well received, and we want fans to love it, but we have a 100% vision for our content. When it comes to Black Adam and JSA, I have a lot to do. ”
"I think when it comes to the DC universe — and that's the great thing about dc — do you have a lot of conversations with all the corners [factions] out there to be able to generate content and tell those stories." So we met with everyone from all corners of the DC universe and talked about how we brought certain characters to life, how we continued to build the world on some of those characters, and it was just about finding the right home for it. You're dealing with characters of this nature and scale, and how we can best deliver more content to our fans. So that's going to go on and you're going to start hearing announcements about some of those characters and who we are, and eventually you'll be able to say a little bit more about the future. ”
While 2022 is already the busiest year ever for DC comics (with five planned releases), it seems that the bigger picture is slowly unfolding.
It could be a solo film from Doctor Destiny or Hawkman, or even a JSA movie.
Warner had claimed in 2010 that he was working on an Eagle Man movie, but nothing had progressed, so the project could be revived as a spin-off of Black Adam, with Aldis Hodge returning to his role.
Another possibility is a linkage film between Shazam and Black Adam, which could be used as Shazam! the third film in the series.
Moreover, Black Adam's wife, Isis (Sarah Shashi), also has the potential to derive.
If announced soon, they could start filming within a year and be released in Shazam! Wrath of the Gods was released a year later, in 2024. This ensures that the child actors who play Billy Batson and his foster family remain minors.
If released in 2024, DCEU may feature the first trilogy of single-player heroes outside of mos/bvs/jl.
However, in 2023 or 2024, Wonder Woman 3 may also be released earlier.
HBO MAX is also currently working on four films, Zatanna, Blue Beetle, Hourman and Static.
The above four characters belong to the Dark Justice League, titans, justice society and milestones in terms of organization, so dceu will likely be deployed in an organized system in the future.
While Garcia is also looking forward to dceu's future, he also made it clear that plans for more films or series would only be advanced if Black Adam was a success and fans wanted more.
