Beijing News (reporter Su Ji) On August 24, beijing Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Research Institute released a list of major research directions and candidates for "Cognitive Neural Basis of Artificial Intelligence", with Professor Liu Jia of Tsinghua University as the chief scientist.
According to the list of scholars candidates for the major research directions of "Cognitive Neural Foundations", the 5 Zhiyuan researcher (pi) candidates are outstanding young and middle-aged scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other units, they are Professor Chen Liangyi of Peking University, Professor Fang Fang of Peking University, Professor Wu Si of Peking University, Song Sen, researcher of Tsinghua University, and Yu Shan, researcher of The Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
It is understood that among the six scholars, there are 2 people with a disciplinary background in cognitive neuroscience, 1 person in systems neuroscience, and 3 people in computational neuroscience. They will try to study artificial intelligence from all levels of cognition and nerves, providing a basic theory for moving towards strong artificial intelligence.
Huang Tiejun, president of Zhiyuan Research Institute, said that "the cognitive neural basis of artificial intelligence" is the first major research direction of Zhiyuan in 2020, which aims to cross-integrate neuroscience, cognitive science and information science, strengthen the two-way interaction and spiral development of artificial intelligence and brain science, reveal the fine structure and working mechanism of biological intelligence systems, build a functional brain-like and super-brain intelligent system, test the intelligence level with visual and other functions and typical model animals as references, and explore feasible paths for the future development of artificial intelligence.
Founded in November 2018, Beijing Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Research Institute is a new research institution promoted by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Haidian District Government, focusing on original innovation and core technologies in the field of artificial intelligence.
