Recently, the Xinjiang Morning Post reporter learned from the 2017 academic seminar of the Xinjiang Zoological Society that the academic report "Overview of Bird Diversity and Its Conservation Status" completed by Ding Peng, engineer of the Xinjiang Academy of Environmental Protection Sciences, Gou Jun, chairman of the Xinjiang Bird Watching Association, Ma Ming, researcher of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lin Xuanlong, assistant researcher of the Institute of Forest Ecology of the Xinjiang Academy of Forestry Sciences, shows that Xinjiang is rich in natural resources, diverse ecosystems, and breeds birds. These new bird records include 10 new records of Chinese birds such as the oriole beehawk, the red-waisted suzaku and the reed warbler (the specific records are attached), the new records of 21 species of Xinjiang birds such as mandarin ducks, colored ibises and oriental white storks (the specific records are attached), and the records of 7 subspecies such as short-billed bean goose, Eurasian and Mongolian silver gulls (specific records attached).
