The former glory of Beijing Film Studio is mainly due to its group of highly accomplished artists. Tim Xie is one of them. When I was in primary and secondary school, I watched the movies starring or directed by Xie Tian, and I liked him, but I didn't expect to enter North Film and become friends with him.
Our acquaintance began by the ping-pong table. At that time, Xie Tian was already an old man, and according to common sense, young golfers should respect him as "Xie Lao". However, the entire North Film Studio has no distinction between men, women and children, and the civilized point calls him "Lao Xie", and some people directly call him by his name, which is still insufficient, and it must be childized: "Xie Tian'er!" In the face of these no big or small titles, Xie Tian has always been calm. I also followed the crowd and called him "Lao Xie".
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="3" > begins with talent and is impressed by character</h1>
Lao Xie has long been a great artist, enjoying the reputation of comedy master, "film industry thousand-faced man" and "Chinese Chaplin", but he has always maintained a simple and frank nature, modest and generous, childlike, humorous and funny. Whether he is facing leaders from all walks of life, celebrities, or workers in boiler rooms and maintenance teams, he treats them equally, and there is no tendency to inflame or arrogance and conceit. This is his character that I admire the most, and the main reason why we can trust each other for a generation.
Lao Xie is talented, versatile, and has a distinct artistic personality. He has a very unique imagination and a wealth of unusual means of expression. Whether as an actor or a director, he is willing to meet the challenge, and every work strives to give the audience a sense of freshness, never repeating himself. From the comedy "Icing on the Cake" and "Sweet Career", to the sports film "Spring and Autumn on the Water", the children's film "Little Bell" and its sequels; From the pure old Beijing flavor of "The Tea House", to the Yu opera art film "Seven Pin Sesame Officer", the Pu opera art film "Fireworks tears"... These works with very different themes, styles and styles are all interesting, vividly demonstrating his artistic personality and multi-faceted ability to control. This is closely related to his wide range of friends, a wide range of hobbies and the ability to absorb nutrition anytime, anywhere.
In the mid-1950s, when Lao Xie dubbed a former Soviet comedy film "We Seem to Have Met", one person actually assigned the voices of 24 characters, which became a spectacle in the history of film dubbing. Lao Xie can not only change his voice, but also change his face, which was performed in the early 1960s on the TV show "The Laughing Party". Sichuan drama changes face, as soon as he leaves the assistance of props, the actor has no skills to do; Lao Xie changed his face, without the help of any props and masquerades, relying solely on the control of facial muscles, in the blink of an eye, he conjured up several completely different faces in front of everyone's eyes, and each face was very different, which was really amazing.
In the early 1980s, Lao Xie, who was in his seventies, directed the comedy film "Sweet Career", the opera film "Seven Pin Sesame Officer" and the film "Tea House" based on Mr. Lao She's famous works, which were widely acclaimed. His creative enthusiasm grew, and he was sick and living in the hospital, thinking about several films to be shot day and night. When I went to see him in the hospital, he talked to me about some triumphant clips in the sequel to the sports film "Behind the Scenes" and the children's film "Little Bell", and the more I talked about the higher the interest, I didn't feel that I had entered the play, and I pinched my throat to install a puppet, and then danced with my hands and feet to learn children, so that the patients looked at each other, so that they were not surprised.

In fact, Lao Xie's life experience kung fu began as early as childhood. He was born in 1914 in Majiakouzi, Tianjin. The civilian life without much money and rice, the Haihe Wharf that gathers all kinds of people, especially the Majiakouzi "Renshi'er", which is the epitome of the low-level society, let Xie Tian read the taste of life and the cold of the world since he was a child.
As a child, Xie Tian was fascinated by movies and showed amazing imitation ability and rich imagination. Jablin (Chaplin) and Pei Shikaiden are characters that Xiao Xie Tian often imitates. As an ordinary railway employee's father and mother who subsidized his family by doing odd jobs, it can be said that Xie Tian's earliest Bole was. They not only did their best to satisfy Xiao Xie Tian's desire to watch movies, but also watched their son's childish performances with great interest.
When xie Tian was in middle school, he met the second Bole in his life, Mr. Shen Fu. At that time, Mr. Shen hosted a column in Tianjin's Guoqiang Bao, and Xie Tian submitted articles many times, and the two met. The young Xie Tian's understanding and love for the film was greatly appreciated by Mr. Shen Fu. After graduating from secondary school, in order to take on the responsibility of supporting his parents as soon as possible, Xie Tian was admitted to an English typing school, and soon graduated with the first speed of typing, and was successfully hired as a typist by a British trading company. Unexpectedly, the white secretary's English cursive was like a ghost drawing, completely unrecognizable. No matter how dexterous Xie Tian's fingers were, he had no choice but to resign from the job that was quite well paid. We really have to thank the "foreign secretary", maybe he doesn't love cursive writing but loves calligraphy or calligraphy, and China has one less film artist, Xie Tian.
Director Xie Tian was filmed on the scene of "The Tea House"
At the age of 21, Xie Tian left Tianjin for Shanghai and joined Mr. Shen Fu, who had long left the newspaper world and turned into the film industry, and began his film career. Debuting on the screen as a playboy, he played a supporting role or protagonist in six or seven films such as "Road Angel" in a year, showing his acting talent. At this time, the Anti-Japanese War broke out, and Xie added to the Film Workers Association and actively participated in the performance of anti-Japanese drama. Soon after the defeat at the Battle of Songhu and the fall of Shanghai to the hands of the Japanese Kou, Xie Tian traveled with the Shanghai Filmmaker Troupe in Nanjing, Hankou, Chengdu and other places, continuing to be busy with rescue performances.
In the late period of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, during the great retreat of Qiangui Road, Xie Tian's acting skills actually came in handy. At that time, there were hundreds of thousands of starving refugees on qiangui road, and the retreating defeated soldiers of the nationalist army were also mixed in. Once, Xie Tian, who had been hungry for several days, suddenly encountered an opportunity to earn food. It was a military truck retreating along the road, and because the road was so bad, the road was potholed, it often broke down, and had to temporarily hire a group of passing refugees to push it, and who sold their strength to eat it, and those who did not sell their strength were not allowed to eat. At that time, Xie Tian's whole body was soft and soft, and he didn't even have the strength to pick up a brick, how could he have the hope of pushing the cart to eat? As a result, Xie Tian unexpectedly surpassed the real carts of others with fake carts that were enough to "perform" with chaotic facial expressions and physical movements, and was identified by the officer with the cart as the most powerful one, earning three rice balls in one fell swoop.
After half a century, Lao Xie told me about that strange experience, and while talking and performing the "pushing the cart", he still couldn't help but laugh badly. Later, on the way to escape, he did the same, and performed a "typhus and tuberculosis" patient, which frightened the Kuomintang officers who came along the road to arrest soldiers and fled in a hurry, and escaped the disaster of being arrested. Old Xie said half seriously and half jokingly that those performances were the most successful performances in his life.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="31" > old or not</h1>
Old Xie is always childlike and does not rely on the old man, so he is always young in the eyes of everyone. Everyone once recognized that lao Xie will not be old.
However, it turns out that this is just our "wishful thinking".
One morning, Aunt Yang told me that Lao Xie had a heart attack and was hospitalized. Asked which hospital to visit, Aunt Yang said: "You must not go, when you see an acquaintance, he is excited, which is not good for his condition." After leaving the hospital, you will meet again. Aunt Yang was right, I could only hope that Lao Xie would recover and be discharged from the hospital as soon as possible. Unexpectedly, this hope was a long time.
One early winter morning, in the compound, I saw Lao Xie after being discharged from the hospital. He sat in a wheelchair, wearing a thick cotton coat, his hands on the armrests of the wheelchair, and was pushed by the nanny to bask in the sun under the wall. Aunt Yang leaned over and asked Lao Xie, "Who do you see coming?" Do you still know?" Lao Xie looked at me blankly, a smile appeared on his face, and said weakly, "Know, Xiaoye."
Tim Xie and the Author (1987)
The old Xie who laughed like a loud bell, the old Xie who danced when he was excited, the old Xie who was always ambitious and had one creative plan after another in his head... Lao Xie, who was thought to never grow old, suddenly became old. I suddenly realized that no one can really be immortal, open-minded and optimistic, and still can't surpass.
For Lao Xie, artistic creation is his life. Once he could no longer engage in the creation he was passionate about, Lao Xie's life was close to the end.
Sure enough, on a quiet winter morning, Old Xie went safely.
——Lao Xie's character style and sound and smile, many of the works he left behind with painstaking blood are still there.
