On September 1, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle") held a cadre meeting to announce the adjustment of the leadership organizational structure of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle. According to the needs of the work, after the study of Dongfeng Motor Group, it was decided that Zhou Xianpeng, assistant general manager of Dongfeng Company, concurrently served as the chairman of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, and at the same time recommended Wang Wei as the general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, and Wang Qiang, the former general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, no longer held relevant positions and was appointed separately.
According to public information, Zhou Xianpeng was born in December 1964, graduated from Nanjing Mechanical College in July 1984 majoring in machine manufacturing, and after graduation, he successively served as the director of the general assembly plant and the director of the production department of Dongfeng Company, the deputy general manager of Dongfeng Fengshen and the general manager of Guangzhou Fengshen, the deputy general manager of Dongfeng Nissan Manufacturing Headquarters, the deputy general manager of Dongfeng Nissan, the vice president and executive vice president of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., and the assistant general manager of Dongfeng Motor Group.
After this adjustment, Wang Wei, the new general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, partnered with Zhou Xianpeng, has served as the deputy director of the commercial vehicle engine factory of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and the director of the Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Engine Factory. Before the adjustment, Wang Wei served as the deputy general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle.
It is worth noting that this personnel adjustment is only one and a half years after the last adjustment. At the end of March last year, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle carried out high-level personnel adjustments, and Wang Qiang took over Yang Qing as the general manager. According to public information, Wang Qiang was born in 1972, graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, started from the technical position of dongfeng equipment manufacturing plant, served as the general manager of Dongfeng Equipment Company in May 2017, and served as the party secretary of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle in July 2018. After being promoted to the position of general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, Wang Qiang proposed a sales target of 250,000 vehicles at the 2021 work conference.
As the foundation of Dongfeng Group, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle is the backbone of Dongfeng Group in the field of commercial vehicles, and its excellent market performance has contributed to the high-quality development of Dongfeng Group. According to the semi-annual financial report recently released by Dongfeng Motor Group, the commercial vehicle business, including Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Dongfeng Shares, Dongfeng Liuqi, Zhengzhou Nissan and Dongfeng Special Commercial Vehicles, has achieved greater growth. According to the data, in the first half of this year, Dongfeng Group's commercial vehicle segment sold a total of 349,200 units, an increase of 33.2% year-on-year, and the market share increased by 1.2 percentage points year-on-year.
Correspondingly, the sales revenue of 54.519 billion yuan brought by commercial vehicles increased by 15.205 billion yuan from 39.314 billion yuan in the same period last year, an increase of 38.7% year-on-year, accounting for 78.1% of the total revenue of Dongfeng Group in the first half of this year. Dongfeng Group pointed out that the increase in commercial vehicle revenue was mainly due to the growth of the commercial vehicle business of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Special Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. ”
The latest data show that Dongfeng commercial vehicle sales from January to July this year accounted for about 30% of the total sales of the group's commercial vehicle sector. It is worth mentioning that with the official landing of the "China VI" policy in July this year, as of now, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles' National VI models have accumulated sales of more than 110,000 vehicles, accounting for 18.3% of the market share in the first half of this year, ranking first in the industry; of which fuel commodity sales exceeded 90,000 vehicles, and the share of National VI fuel vehicles ranked first in the industry for three consecutive years.
This outstanding market performance is due to the early layout of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles. In fact, with the release of the national "Blue Sky Defense War" plan in 2017, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle began to lay out and start the preparation of the whole vehicle and powertrain. In 2019, municipal sanitation models that reached the National VI standard began to be released in Beijing, Shenzhen, yangtze river delta and other regions. At the same time, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle released the Longqing powertrain brand and built a complete supply chain of engines and transmissions that meet the emission standards of China VIB.
Previously, in the second centralized seminar of Dongfeng's commercial vehicle business in 2021, Zhou Xianpeng said that "in the first half of this year, the collaboration in the field of commercial vehicles has achieved good results and produced a culture of synergy", in the face of the industry impact caused by the implementation of China VI, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle will further increase sales and market share in the second half of this year, creating a market segment "singles champion", as of July this year, Dongfeng commercial vehicle sales of 143,400 units, completing 57.36% of the annual target.
