Ten of China's most famous dinosaur fossils, let's take a look

Yellow River Dragon: In 2006, more than 30 dinosaur fossil sites were found in the area of tens of square kilometers between Santun and Liudian in Ruyang County, Henan Province. One of the dinosaur fossils is 18 meters long, 20 centimeters long with only one toe, long forelimbs, shoulder height of 6 meters, shoulder width of up to 3 meters, hip height of 5.1 meters, hip width of 2.8 meters, and head height of about 8 meters. It is currently known to be a large Asian body cavity, that is, a tall, fat dinosaur, known as the "Asian Dragon King". (Image from ic photo)

Gu's little raptor: Gu's little thief is the first flying dinosaur found so far, the total length of the orthotype specimen is only about 77 cm, and the food is meat. The trunk is relatively short, only 44% to 50% of the length of the hind limbs, and the tail is longer than the body; it can be distinguished from Zhao's small raptors with biceps nodules with prominent radius, short forelimb I. fingers, flat and large single sternum, strong pubic curvature, and tibia arch. The most striking feature of Gu's little raptor is that in addition to the development of down feathers on its body, it also developed very long fan-shaped flight feathers or tail feathers on its front, hind limbs and tail. Chinese DragonBird: The Chinese DragonBird lived in the Early Cretaceous 140 million years before this year. Its fossils were found in the Rehe biota of Western Liaoning, China in 1996. At first, it was thought to be a primitive bird, named "Chinese Dragon Bird", and later confirmed by scientists as a small carnivorous dinosaur. Its initial skeleton was about 1 meter in size, the forelimbs were thick and short, the claw hooks were sharp and conducive to predation, the hind legs were long, suitable for running, and the whole body was covered with a to a primitive fluff. The study found that the Chinese dragon bird was covered with yellow-brown and orange feathers, while the tail was orange and white. (Image from ic photo)

Taibai Huayang Dragon: Taibai Huayang Dragon is a medium-sized primitive stegosaurus with a body length of 4.3 meters, its main feature is that its head is large and thick, triangular in shape, the neck is shorter, the forelimbs are greatly shorter than the hind limbs, but it walks on all fours. The two rows of bone plates on the back are relatively small and changeable in shape, and the tail end has two pairs of plate-like tail spines. The existing specimens are displayed in the Zigong Dinosaur Museum and the Chongqing Museum, which is the earliest complete stegosaurus skeleton of the era found in the world. (Image from ic photo)

Giant Shandong Dragon: Giant Shandong Dragon belongs to the ornithopod dinosaur in the dinosaur class, which was found in August 1964 in the keel stream of Lübiao Township, Zhucheng City, Shandong Province, with a length of 15 meters from beginning to end and an 8 meters high standing, which is the largest duck-billed dragon found in the world so far. It is characterized by a wide and flattened mouth, much like a duck's beak. The skull is long, the apical surface is flatter, the posterior part of the head is wider, and the tooth bone dentition is long, with sixty grooves. Walking on two legs, the forelimbs are relatively small, the hindlimbs are thick, the webbeds are between the toes, and there is a long large tail. (Image from ic photo)

Mamenxi dragon: One of the largest sauropod dinosaurs found in China, its fossils were found at the Mamingxi Ferry port in Yibin City, and it was scientifically identified as a sauropod suborder. The total length of this genus is about 22 meters, and the body height is nearly 7 meters. Its neck is particularly long, equivalent to half the length of the body, not only making up the length of each cervical vertebrae of the neck, but also as many as 19 cervical vertebrae, which is the largest of the sauropods. The neck is also the longest of all dinosaurs (the longest neck can reach 12.1 meters). Compared with the cervical spine, there are relatively few dorsal, recommended and caudal vertebrae. Spiny-nosed Qingdao Dragon: Spiny-nosed Qingdao Dragon is a dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous Period, with a length of 6.62 meters, a height of 4.9 meters, and a ribbed rod-like spine that grows quite behind the nasal bone, much like the horns of a unicorn, protruding straight forward from between the eyes, it is not good at running, and lacks self-defense weapons, only suitable for survival in freshwater lakes. Its fossils were found in the Cretaceous National Geopark in Laiyang, Shandong Province, China, and are the most famous duck-billed dragon fossils with a crown ornament found in China, the first complete dinosaur fossils found in China, and the earliest and most complete fossil skeleton of echinosin-nosed dinosaurs in China. Millennium Chinese Ornithischiosaurus: Chinese Ornithischiosaurus, a species of feathered dinosaurs of the Chilong family, a group of agile carnivorous dinosaurs with sickle-shaped second toe claws, including dinosaurs and Utahosaurus. Fossils found in the Yixian Formation of Liaoning, China in 1999, are the closest of the feathered dinosaurs to the Middle Barem order of the Lower Cretaceous, about 125 million years ago, making them one of the earliest and most primitive Chironidae dinosaurs. In 2009, American scientists discovered that the Millennium Chinese bird dragon was the world's first dinosaur capable of secreting venom. (Image from ic photo)

Xu's Lufeng Dragon: Xu's Lufeng dragon is a genus of protosauropod dinosaurs that lived in southwestern China from the early to mid-Jurassic period. The fossil specimen was found in Lufeng, Yunnan Province, China, and is one of the oldest dinosaurs excavated in China, very similar to the plate dragon excavated in the late Triassic rock formations in western Europe. It is light in size, about 4 to 5 meters long, has a small and not very elongated skull, has a large orbit, a robust tail, a particularly developed first finger of the hands and feet, and at least 25 teeth up and down the mouth, which are similar in shape to leaves and have tiny serrated teeth on the front and back edges. Heilongjiang Manchurian Dragon: Heilongjiang Manchurian Dragon is a species of ornithopod suborder, duck-billed dragon family, and Manchurian dragon genus. Plant-feeding, about 8 m long, lived in the late Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era. The fossil was found in northeast China and is the first dinosaur fossil found in China. From 1915 to 1917, Russian geologists went to China for three consecutive years of large-scale investigations and excavations, and collected a number of dinosaur fossils. They repaired the fossils they had collected, paired them with a third of the plaster casts, and put them on a shelf and displayed them in the Geological Museum of Petersburg. (Image from ic photo)
