On November 5, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin presided over a regular press conference.

Question: Pierre, deputy press secretary of the US White House, said that it is extremely important to find out the source of the new crown virus, and the US and partners will continue to urge China to show transparency. What is China's comment on this?

Wang Wenbin: China has always adhered to the principles of science, openness and transparency to participate in global scientific cooperation on traceability, and has invited WHO experts to China twice to conduct traceability research. The joint China-WHO traceability study has drawn authoritative, professional and scientific conclusions, laying a good foundation for the next stage of global scientific traceability.

The US side does not look at the facts, does not pay attention to science, politicizes the fight against the epidemic in the front, and uses the intelligence department to carry out so-called traceability investigation. The political manipulation of the US side not only seriously affected its own fight against the epidemic and made the American people pay a tragic price, but also seriously undermined international anti-epidemic cooperation and seriously interfered with global scientific traceability, which was widely opposed by the international community.

We once again urge the US side to stop political manipulation and return to the right path of unity against the epidemic and scientific traceability. It is hoped that the United States can also show transparency like China, carry out traceability research cooperation with WHO as soon as possible, respond to the legitimate concerns of the international community about the source of the virus in the United States in a timely manner, explain the suspension of the blood test traceability project in the United States, and open the Fort Detrick Biological Laboratory and the University of North Carolina for WHO to conduct traceability research.
