Wang Qingchen, vice president of Spring Airlines, resigned, and Song Peng, former chief engineer, took over

Beijing News (reporter Wang Zhenzhen) On September 7, Spring Airlines Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Spring Airlines") issued an announcement that due to personal reasons, Wang Qingchen, vice president of the company, submitted his resignation to the company. Upon the nomination of the president, the company agreed to appoint Song Peng as vice president, who resigned from the position of chief engineer.

Born in 1963, Wang Qingchen graduated from Yunnan University and has successively served as the station chief of the monitoring and reporting station of the Navigation Meteorological Department of the Yunnan Provincial Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the chief of the Safety Technology and Training Section of the Flight Brigade of the Yunnan Provincial Administration of Civil Aviation of China, the deputy director of the Safety Operation Supervision Department of China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Co., Ltd., and the general manager of the Operation Standards and Flight Training Department of China Cargo Aviation Co., Ltd. Since December 2011, Wang Qingchen has served as vice president of Spring Airlines.

Song Peng, who took over the position of vice president, was born in 1976, graduated from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics majoring in aircraft power engineering, and served as maintenance engineer, deputy manager and duty manager of Maintenance Control Center of Shanghai Aviation Co., Ltd. Since 2004, he has successively served as the supervisor of the maintenance planning room, the director of the personnel training room, and the deputy general manager of the maintenance engineering department of the Spring Aviation Maintenance Engineering Department. Since March 2017, Song Peng has served as the chief engineer of Spring Airlines.

Due to the succession of the company's vice president, Song Peng no longer held the position of chief engineer, and Spring Airlines hired Xu Kang, born in 1977, as the deputy chief engineer. According to the announcement, Xu Kang graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University with a master's degree in business administration and worked for China Northwest Airlines (now Northwest Airlines Branch of China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd.). Since 2007, Xu Kang has served as the engineering and technical manager of the Spring Aviation Maintenance Engineering Department, the general manager of the Procurement Support Department, and the deputy general manager of the Maintenance Engineering Department.

According to the disclosure, since the beginning of this year, there has been less information on the change of directors and supervisors of Spring Airlines, and only Shen Shanjie, the employee representative supervisor of the company's board of supervisors, left his post on August 18 because he reached the statutory retirement age, and has now elected Jin Jing as the employee representative supervisor of the company's board of supervisors.

Spring Airlines, which operates in a low-cost model, achieved a net profit of 10.4073 million yuan in the first half of this year, achieving a turnaround, of which the net profit in the second quarter was 295 million yuan. Guosen Securities analysis believes that thanks to the rapid stabilization and recovery of industry demand, Spring Airlines' business volume has increased significantly, passenger turnover has increased by 53.9% year-on-year, passenger receipts, especially domestic line passenger receipts, have improved significantly year-on-year, and the driving revenue has been significantly repaired year-on-year, down only 7.9% compared with the same period in 2019.
